Thanks for your kind words. The extra features you are proposing are definitely coming in a full release of the game! Build your bag, extra classes, class specific tokens and encounters! Thanks you for playing my game and for leaving a comment!

you are completely right, the death animations didn’t make the cut. I totally see how that can be confusing when the same enemy spawns, especially when you one shot them. That might be a good mechanic to add indeed. I do feel like to really get this game to the next level there should indeed be something that you can do with the draws. I’m still thinking about what it could be. Thanks for playing and taking the time to leave a comment!

Nice little game you created! I love the dark theme and the news caster announcing the result of my dark activities! The game looks very polished and the cookies look delicious. Maybe I just got lucky, cause only after day 1 (sorry i skipped the intro) I only bought poison cookies and it never really got me at risk of suspicion. I'm sure this was due to the fact that its a jam and there was no time for proper playtesting, regardless I enjoyed playing. Wonder why nobody visited my shop on day 6...

Here I was thinking I was original! Thank you so much for feedback and playing my game!

Thanks you for playing! Hope you had some fun regardless of the complicatedness. If I release a full version I will make sure to add a proper tutorial!

Thanks for playing, I agree the balance is a bit off. However it is intentional that you would regularly be 'punished' by pushing too hard. Once I develop it further you as a player would get more ways to combat this overheating by building your 'deck/bag'. Thanks for your feedback, it's highly appreciated!

(1 edit)

Interested to find out what you think about my bagbuilder (without the actual bagbuilding - that didnt make it unfortunately) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/rate/3847384

You are completely right, it also depends a bit which character you choose I think. A tutorial was planned but didn't make the cut for the submission unfortunately. Thanks for playing an the feedback!

Nice original take on the cookie clicker theme! It's nice that the goods always come with some bads so you have to choose the best of the worst! I only had one remark and that is that when the biscuit gets behind the score you can't click it. Other than that, fun submission, congrats!

Wow, I definitely did not expect anyone to play more than 5 minutes, I almost feel bad for not taking more time to balance and put and endgoal into the game. The enemy encounters are now spawned in at random, but I was thinking to put 'the BAKER' as the final boss to indeed give an endgoal. It was just a jam game, but I am considering to expand it after the jam to make it into a fuller version based on all your feedback. Thanks so much for playing and commenting!

Haha the old man is becoming a community favorite! It was actually my test class but I thought it was funny to keep it in. His years of experience gave him a lot of HP and all his hits are crits! You were right that it actually could confuse the actual intended gameplay though. Thanks for playing and for your feedback!

This game was more fun than I am comfortable to admit, I loved the somewhat clunkiness of the controls. I would probably make it a bit more difficult by allowing the biscuits to go off the screen, as now my tactic was just to yeet it to the other side and catch it off the wall. I think the foto at the end of the round and the star system together with the animations make this really shine. Nice submission, congrats!

Hey thanks for playing my game! You have some great suggestions. The rewards part and the actual building your bag didn't make it in the jam version unfortunately. I was planning to add some more interesting enemies then just plain 'damage dealers'. I had some plan of having them interact with your bag in some way by adding blanks or more heat generators for example. Your suggestions sound like really cool implementations for some boss mechanics! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

Thanks for your feedback! Yeah indeed the balancing is off in this version. Thanks for your suggestions, I was indeed planning to add some monsters or something that somehow interact with your drawn tokens as well, but it didn't make the jam version. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing my game! Indeed, balancing is something that went out of the window due to time constraints, I did tone down some characters a bit, but didn't take the time to fully balance it. Thanks for trying it long enough to find out you cant die!

Thanks for the screenshot I see what you mean. I did not experience this unfortunately, definitely something to look into!

Nice unique game and nice type of puzzle game. The art looks really good and the music is also good. Congrats on your submission!

Nice little game! I like the tradeoff before every level for risk and reward. I did have a feeling that some of the hitboxes where a bit off where I thought I was safe but still got hit, and on the other hand though I would pick up a coin but didn't. But still very enjoyable, good job!

Nice blackjack like balatro game, unfortunately I'm so bad at gambling so even while having some blackjack experience I got stomped quite hard. The game looks very polished though congrats on your submission!

I really like the style of your game. The art is very cool, the soundtrack fits the atmosphere and the animations are amazing. The powerups are also nice to try out. Unfortunately I'm very bad at gambling and I ran out of spins faster than I could hit cookies! Great job on your submission

This blasted cat took all my cookies! I really like the visual effect of this game! I also like this blackjack like game. Congrats!

Nice submission, the game looks really good and the soundtrack is also very nice! I wish the screen was a bit bigger as it felt like the enemy was always getting away from me and I felt I couldn't really hit him while he had no problem hitting me. Overall your game is a very polished submission, congrats!

I'm a sucker for roguelikes and this is a nice implementation. I would've loved to see where this would go to given more time. The only remarkt I have that it would be nice to somehow indicate a difference between picking a die and actually assigning die to enemies as sometimes I thought I was picking a side and instead had to attack. Overall it was a nice submission!

The game was very enjoyable, the artstyle was good and I loved the sounds when the battle was going on, it almost felt like a song. It was nice to see the numbers on my character go up, very satisfying!

Thanks for trying my game! Could you tell me more about the glitchyness you're experiencing? Which part is glitching and when?

the old man is secretly quite strong though! All his attacks are crits and due to his long lifespan he has a lot of hp! Thanks for playing my game, hope you enjoyed it!

I just wanna be the very best, what can I say?

Nice game and I love the juice you've managed to add to the game. I also love that you see the angles that the bullets will bounce off of. Congrats on your submission!

Cute little game, I loved the art of the cat and the grandma. I think some things on the gameplay could be improved. For example the cat sometimes stuck me in place and didnt allow me to move. Also having to click the quicktime events instead of pressing a (or any) button would improve the controls considerably. Overall, still congrats on your submission, it's not easy to make a game on your own in a week!

I like the bullet hell genre and this is a nice take on it. It initially was not really clear to me which things hurt and which ones don't, but I got it later on, congrats on your submission!

I love the game art and the animations. The sound effect were well done as well. I love how you implemented the risk it for the biscuit theme similarly as how I implemented it. I didn't really understand how the shop worked as I couldn't really find my money clearly when buying upgrades. Overall quite enjoyable!

I like how you added a story into game, it's also nice how you implemented different mechanics per level. It would be nice ot have more levels with each of the mechanics. The linerider part of the game was what drew me in, would've loved to see more levels like that!

It was nice to gamble the money away and literally risk everything for getting more money. I do feel like some of the multipliers go out of hand quite fast though in a way that it makes buying all the upgrades so easy. For a gamejam game it was still quite enjoyable to play, congrats!

Nice visuals and soundeffects, would be cool to see some more mechanics and hazards to dodge. Overall nice submission

It's nice how much you've managed to get into the game in one week. My monkey gambling brain liked betting all my money away on stocks that mean nothing to me. It would be nice to see the prices of the stocks and the price of you order when you are buying stocks. Also options to buy 'as much as you money allows' would be great. The art of the different stock brands are pretty cool

Nice game, I like that you spin to earn and earn to spin. The game looks really polished and the upgrades you added really give a nice 'just one more run' feeling. Both the art and the soundtrack are top-notch, congrats!

I.. uh.. might have not have had enough time to do the building part though, but still curious to hear what you think!

Nice turn-based gaming idea. I think it would be nice if the fight log would be visible so you get more of an idea of what's going on. The betting for attack idea is pretty smart!

Cool game, I really liked how you 'risk' all the money for a chance to live. I don't know if it is a bug or not, but I felt like I could reroll all the time without any penalty. You managed to jam a lot of mechanics into this game. I really like the animations you have added, those were really good. Good job!

Nice game, the graphics look good and the squishiness of the cat is so nice and satisfying. It would be nice to see more added to this game to allow for different strategies, as for now there's one solution. It would also be cool if the score depends on how well you perform on the level. Overall it was very nicely done!
