Absolutely! And thank you for the callout. I've now updated the itch page with the current version and links.

It is not! I completely forgot to update the itch build of this. If you still need to use it, you can do so here:

https://github.com/geraldfingburke/simple-leaderboard-api

If you already tried that and it didn't work, it's because the links were out of date as well. I just updated my site a few weeks ago and completely forgot to update the other services I run on it. Everything should be current and it appears to be working.

You're the hero we need

Nah, bro. Button did everything.

ikr?

Yes! It generates awareness and positive vibes

I used to use Unity. Went all in on Godot last year and haven't looked back.

This was a really fun idea! Best I was able to do was 13. I really like the competitive feeling of trying to get that score lower. Very well done.

Really well done for the scope of the jam. Really good for a first submission as well! I enjoyed this.

Okay, this was rad. I loved every part of this. I'm a big spore fan, and the vibes were there. The art style was nice and creepy. Honestly, altogether very good entry.

It took me 24 generations, but I got there in the end. This was handled very well. I tried to fight death for a while, but I gave in and it opened up a lot after that. Very good use of the limitation.

The grappling mechanic is awesome!

This is a take on the limitation I haven't seen before. It's also a really fresh take on the hidden object genre. You really need to keep going with this and flesh it out.

The animations were really well done. Good job on getting this in!

Good job on getting done! I had a hard time figuring out which hosts I was supposed to go to, so I had to use trial and error. Which, when you think about it, fits the theme well.

I absolutely loved the art. The concept was interesting as well. I enjoy games that simulate simple chores. You should go back and finish this one. But good job on getting something done and up for the jam. That's a lot better than not doing it at all.

I really enjoyed this. The knowledge base with type effectiveness were nice touches. I did notice that you can refuse to die by just continuing to fight after you lose. Honestly, it's the kind of quirk I like about jams. Great work!

It felt like the reverse of the cell stage of Spore. I definitely see the .io game inspiration there as well. Good entry!

The character design and art in general is fantastic. I'm not usually big on the timing-based boxing games, but I was able to just spam keys and get to a point where progress stopped. Great job!

Really neat concept. I managed to get through to the end. I like that it required a little bit of strategy to find a balance between taking enough hits to level up, but no so much that you die.

I'm going to be as honest as possible here. This is probably the best game of the jam. I'm a huge fan of idle games and God games and this scratches a very particular itch for me. I managed to ascend, and I will say those little idiots deserved every bit of what they got. Great job!

I won! This was neat. Took a minute to figure out, but when I did, it was pretty fun. Good work!

I'm sorry you weren't able to get it done. I really like the concept. Hopefully you can put it together post jam. Good luck!

I love the vibes here. Art and music are great. The progression system is very forgiving, even if some of the enemies aren't. This was rad.

I absolutely love the art! The concept works well and fits the theme and limitation. Great work!

Incredibly well done and very reminiscent of that era of game. Glad I keep a USB SNES controller on my desk. Really completed the experience.

I'm an absolute sucker for roguelike/lites. I got all the unlocks, but I couldn't get through the last boss. Just couldn't find the right setup. Still, a very interesting concept and it was executed well.

Some of the platforming felt a little bit stiff and unforgiving. Still, a very solid concept. I'd like to see where this goes with some more time invested.

I spent way longer on this than I expected. I wanted to see if there was an ending. Without spoiling anything, it was very well done. The cutest portrayal of death having an existential crisis I have ever seen.

This was a really cool idea! It was a little bit easy to fall off the map and a bit disorienting to get started again. But the concept of give and take when you die is great.

This game scratches a very specific itch for me. I had to play it until the upgrades broke it, which is how I approach all of these games. Absolutely loved it.

Incredibly well done. Nice gradual increase to the difficulty. I would love to see this more fleshed out. There's so many different puzzles you could build onto this! I did make it to the end, but I got under par maybe once the whole way through.

I went to a talk one year at the East Coast Games Conference. One of the folks from the Everquest team was talking about designing dynamic AI by building agents that operated on a set of wants and needs, rather than a scripted behavioral routine. This was an attempt to model that. My major failings were 1. Not giving myself enough time to make it work (I started on the last weekend) and 2. Slapping the 'game' elements onto the simulation almost as an afterthought.

Thank you for playing!

I originally had a filtering system, but messaging kept slipping through, I had to chuck it out at the last minute. Most of the problems were a result of me only working on it the last weekend of the jam. But I do plan to follow up and get it working to the point where this stuff is more clear.

Bless is meant to provide a boost to one of your primary resources. Blight was meant to be tied into an unimplemented fear metric. Villagers are meant to be able to kill one another if their temper is high enough, but I never got it triggered. Dangerous villagers would decrease the safety and smiting them would help to improve that.

I plan to follow up and fix some of these things one the rating period is over. I also need to add an intro that tells you what is meant to be happening.

No worries. It only happened because I played it too much. It's a good problem.

I crashed it! Very fun. I have no idea when I would have stopped if it didn't crash.

You were able to laugh? I've spent most of my time openly weeping.
