Ok one of my pass times in Twardy 2.0 is capturing Seed Mimics and Ruin Ghosts and placing them in cow pens I build. Sort of like evil pets. Sadly they eventually disappear. My suggestion is to make a few species permanent (unless hit of course). Or even actual pets and not just evil ones. It depends on the direction you want to take Twardy 2.0 and what would fit in with that.

Hey thanks a lot! Sorry I'm slow to reply, I've been super busy and I often don't think to check itch.
I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask about scaling, I have been doing more responsive design than scaling in my own projects. Even my video (which does have some mistakes as I have since learned) is more about responsive design. I really need to update it. Better than my video: Pixelated Pope's video series on scaling and resolution. It's a bit old and is meant for Game Maker Studio and of course not everything will apply, but it has a lot of information and maths that can be creatively adapted to work with the event system in GDevelop.
I love the looks of it, super cute! It's too hard to play because I use my mouse left handed, so to shoot and then have to take my hand off the mouse and look for the movement or jump keys is not that enjoyable and interrupts game play lol. BUT over half the entries in this jam had setups like that so don't worry about that. I think you did a great job on everything.
