Its great that you are not attempting to make GTA for your first game😃, so i think you are on the right track. What game engine are you using? looks like you are set to complete the game to me.... Just keep it small, just do the one level so you have something to submit to the jam.

If this is your first game then I'm impressed. You have completed a game, and its enjoyable to play.

You could keep working on this adding sounds, music & more effects to it. 

I think using the Camera more for effect would make it better. Like when you are hitting the enemies the camera could zoom in and shake to make the attacks feel more impactful.
 

Pretty good game, i found it fun. Should give a stronger indicator that im nearly dead though. e.g  flashing or heartbeat noise

I played this demo on steam a while ago, is the game still in development?

I actually don't know whats going on or what I'm supposed to do, but the pixel art and colour palette is sublime!!

Its pretty good. The speed bumps don't seem to make anything more difficult though, but i like the reverse mechanic on the game
