It's genuinely so upsetting to see this site not supporting us NSFW devs. I thought one of the core mission statements of this place was to create a safe space for developers to freely express themselves.
Some sort of communication would be nice, lots of us small devs would like to know what is going on.

I'd like to know why they're banning people on false pretenses... creator of "a simple life with my unobtrusive sister" had this suspension slapped on him

"Your account has been suspend for violation of our adult content policy listed here:

https://itch.io/docs/creators/faq#is-adult-content-allowed

We don’t allow hosting content that includes sexualized images or videos of real-life humans. Fictional, illustrated, and rendered content is generally fine, assuming it’s legal. AI-generated imagery that is designed to resemble photographic content of real people is not allowed. Content glorifying sexual violence is not permitted. Depictions of minors, minor-presenting, or suggested minors in a sexual context are not allowed and will result in account suspension.

If you plan to collect money for your content, then you must adhere to the acceptable use policy of all respective payment processors that your account utilizes. Accounts that are in violation of our terms are not eligible for payouts.

Payment Processor Policies:"

which is a complete and blatant lie about the content of the game.  I hope the dev sues for libel.

Another game called Hearts on Parole just got completely wiped as well for no reason. I played it and it's a genuinely wholesome game. Itch needs to do something about this situation

This happened last year. Even completely unrelated items were arbitrarily pressured to be deleted, and a service that allowed users to view out-of-print books was shut down until recently. The damage caused by this is extensive.

The Japan Fair Trade Commission is also addressing this issue.
If you have time, try reading it translated into your native language.
The stated purpose and the actual purpose are completely different, and personally, I feel it's like economic terrorism.

It's not just NSFW games being shadow banned.  Penny Larcney Gig Economy Supervillian has no nudity or explict content but it has been shadow banned.  It does have progressive story lines on things like trans rights however.  This is bigger than they're coming for porn games, this is no different from the book bans.

Here's some petitions we can sign. I know it's not much, but it's something.

Tell MasterCard, Visa & Activist Groups: Stop Controlling What We Can Watch, Read, or Play https://chng.it/b2pMbsLvdg

Mastercard: Sex work is work. End your unjust policy https://action.aclu.org/petition/mastercard-sex-work-work-end-your-unjust-policy

Yep, we've already signed those and starting promoting them. What we also want to know is why some games got randomly taken out that have nothing to do with the statement they released.
Thank you for sharing btw!

I just want to play The kid at the back :(
