Anonymous: Can you tell us abt the jdox fanfic ideas/wips in your google docs 👀 what are the premises
oh my god it’s so sweet that you’d ask about them 🥺 so every time i do a rewatch i end up adding more notes to the pile, but there is like 3 wips that have potential of becoming a fic (only if i could just pull myself together rip) there’s one that’s just basically a riff on my everdying love for the fact that Perry’s first nickname for JD in the pilot was baby (yeah it wasn’t an actual nickname, but i’m rolling with it because he did call him baby and i’m insufferable) and him reacting to that happening again (it actually happened twice on the show, i will make a gifset about it one if these days, promise) and it’s kind of angsty but obviously with a happy ending there’s another one where JD gets called into the hospital while he’s on a date with a guy and Perry’s doing his usual bit about JD being a girl and dating guys but then accidentally finds out that it is what’s happening and then JD makes him promise not to say anything to the others but of course it won’t stop Perry from thinking about it non-stop and to reevaluate his chances and the one that is largely written (though it requires a-ha-lot of editing) is a 5+1 or however many instances fic where JD ends up as a patient in the hospital when Perry’s on call, this actually goes through seasons and it involves the canon ones with his appendix and such, some ridiculously clumsy JDesque incidents and a more major injury, while ✨stuff✨ happen that finally lead them to each other that’s pretty much all i’ve got lmao

aww hii F 💛 3.Do you write fics from start or finish, or jump around? I usually start by filling up my notes with all sorts of different scenes from all over the fic, and when I have the scene which will be the actual first, that’s when I open a new google doc and start copy pasting and editing and filling in the gaps — while also continuing to add to the note and then flip back and forth between them 🥲 5.What is the perfect environment for you to write in? at my latest job I had a lot of downtime sitting at my desk and flicking my phone open every other minute so that being such a boring place kinda worked to the advantage of my writing, also when I have longer bus rides I tend to work out drafts for more stuff, it just works when I have no other way of entertaining myself, I guess lmao 13.Is there a trope you wouldn’t write if it was the last trope on earth? oooh this is such a good question! mm I’m not sure if that counts as a trope but something I would definitely not touch is omegaverse, nothing against it, it’s just not for me. that and high school AUs lmao

hii arti 🫶 6.If you’re really concentrating, how many words can you write in a day? I think the most I ever got done in one day was about 5k, but it’s rare for me to be able to get in the zone like that 9.Do you prefer to write AUs, canon divergence, or canon-compliant fic? canon-divergence and maybe canon compliant, I like to pick up the story where it was left off or sometimes pivot it into a direction canon didn’t go into (or just ignoring canon character deaths lmao) but even when I write AUs, I like to keep the quintessential events and dynamics to some degree 11.If you could only write angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your life, which would it be? angst, definitely angst. I love smut and I dabble in fluff occasionally, but angst is my bread and butter for sure 15.A Hollywood producer tells you that they want to film just one of your fics. Which fic would you want it to be? it’s a hard one cuz none of them really, but if I had to choose, I think I’d go with Keep My Heart Warm In Yours cuz that could be a cute Hallmark movie of its own lmao 23.If you had to remix one of your own fics, which would it be and how would you remix it? I think I’d give another go to no harm, no foul because that’s pretty much my only buddie fic that I’m particularly unhappy with how it turned out… there is just like thousands of words of exposition and backstory that’s just totally unnecessary in retrospect… but I still like the base idea of the fic so~

hiii Nea 💛 8.Do you listen to music while you write? If so, share a song that’s been inspiring you lately. I do listen to music! I have my little (and big) playlists made for my main ships and in some cases for specific fics too… currently one of the songs that has been giving me beans for my bucktommy wip is Ar Dân by Iwan Rheon (yes, that Iwan Rheon) ✨ 10.Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most? probably I’d say dialogue, because I have such a linguistic boner for learning and working with the speech patterns of certain characters 🤭 18.What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene. might not be what I’m most proud of but what comes to mind is this line in If This Is What The Season Is Bringing and it’s a very simple one — as is the whole fic, really. He turned to see— Eddie. Because of course it was Eddie.
“Hey,” he said gently, shutting the door behind himself and Buck knew it was a little irrational right now, but it still warmed his heart that Eddie came and went like this; that he knew no matter what, he was always welcome here — just like Buck was always welcome at his place.
Like one home split into two.
when I wrote it, I just knew it’ll turn @sunshinediaz into putty, so I was very gleeful about that while writing, but also I just feel like it’s fundamentally true, you know? their homes are each other’s safe places where they can go to hide from the rest of the world when they need it.

hii 🫶 44.What mistakes do you keep making no matter how many times your beta corrects you? straight to the throat, huh? 💀 well first of all, I don’t have a beta for a handful of reasons, so it’s just me correcting myself. second of all… I’m not sure? I definitely have some patterns that I may or may not want to break for certain fics, but when it comes to mistakes, they are mostly formatting issues and such. 45.Do you want to break your readers‘ heart or make them laugh? ideally both but… I am known for mostly writing angst and even on fics that I didn’t think were too angsty, I’ve gotten some quote unquote “strongly worded” messages (and pictures of proof on occasion lmao) from friends about making them cry, so I’d def say that’s where my aim lies. 46.How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc) I think it’s very emotion based and character analytic, I like to take them on a journey but through the lens of how their past experiences would affect their decisions within that story, you know? I just don’t particularly feel strong about writing action sequences, though I’ve been getting some really nice comments specifically about those lately, so you know, maybe I’m just being harsh on myself… I definitely prefer to write gut wrenching conversations to a highrise rescue though!

hiii there 🥰 26.Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride? I’d probably say Out Of Order, Still In Line I’m not sure if it could be considered a wild ride, but it sure does go to places 🤭 27.What is your most and least favorite part of writing? most favourite is probably seeing the reactions to some well planted lines that I knew will hit with specific people hehe and the least favourite part is probably writing and editing the very end of every story, because that’s the part I always try to perfect into oblivion, but can’t move on from until it’s done, so it always ends up taking much longer than any other part of the fic.

hiiii han, my love mwuahh 💛💛 7.How do you choose which POV to write from? I don’t, really? it usually depends on what the fic is about and what certain scenes are about, if it’s more interesting to tell it from the pov of the person in the know or the person who doesn’t have a clue. whose affections I wanna put the emphasis on and frankly, when it comes to smut; whose body I feel like describing from the other’s perspective. it’s all very case by case I think, but I’m always down for switching povs from one scene to another, if I feel that serves the story better. 8.Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story? I am usually very fond of the build up and the begining, but most excited to to get to the quote unqoute “big moments” and “revelations” leading to the culmination of the story, I guess they all have their own novelties, I can’t really just pick one!

hiii 🫶 1.Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics? this is a surprisingly difficult question, because most of my multichaps start out as one-shots. I rarely plan for longer fics specifically… case in point: the mudslide fic was meant to be around 4k initially and ended up being 75k (with a possible epilogue, if i get the spark for it) making it the longest fic I ever posted lmao anyway, I love to work on and tinker with longer fics, but one-shots come with instant gratification which is always nice. 🫡 2.Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go? kinda, but not really? I put the * breaks in while writing and I know what beats I want to hit with the story as a whole, but I only break the fic up into chapters after the whole thing is finished. 5.Do you like constructive criticism? nope. I write for myself and for fun. usually, I can tell if something works or if it doesn’t — and when it doesn’t, I decide to leave that in regardless or tweak at it until I’m satisfied with it. if my stuff doesn’t exactly align with what someone wants to read, then it’s not for them. 🫶

hii 🫶 🖍Post Any sentence from your wip Buck had an incredible physique and a strong frame, but there was something so soft and gentle about him that Eddie couldn’t help but smile whenever they ran into each other. 🌍What tags or warnings will your / one of your wip(s) need if you intend to share it? uhhh I very rarely write anything that needs a specific warning so none, I think?

hii ☺️ 🖍Post Any sentence from your wip One moment, Eddie was hurrying through corridors with parched wallpaper and billowing smoke and the next, he was free falling from two stories high and landing on top of a large pile of debris and his own oxygen tank. 🤡How many Wips are you actively working on? I have way more than that, but I am actively working on 6, I think?? trying to, anyway 🥲
