Randa’s brothers are finally on their way out of Khartoum! Randa is just $698 away from completing her family’s fundraiser, and she’s hoping to be able to finish it in the next few days due to the US imposing sanctions on Sudan. Here is more about the current situation in Randa’s words from and update she posted to the fundraiser:
“We’re Almost There, just $1,000 Left! Let’s Finish This Together It’s been a year and a half since we started this fundraiser, and thanks to your incredible support, we’re now just $1,000 away from reaching our goal! We’re deeply relieved to share that my brothers have finally managed to escape Khartoum and are now on their way out. This is a huge milestone and it would not have been possible without your help. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement has carried us through.
But now, time is running out.
Due to the recent escalation in U.S. sanctions on Sudan, we are worried that access to our fundraiser or the ability to transfer funds might soon be affected. That’s why we’ve made the decision to close the fundraiser by the end of this month — we need to secure the remaining support urgently while we still can.
We are so close. If you’ve been meaning to contribute or can share this one last time, now is the moment. Let’s finish this together and ensure my family can move forward in safety and dignity.

As the new year begins, I sit inside our cold tent and ask myself:
Do I even have the right to dream?
A small home. A safe roof. Warmth that feels like the homes we lost.
But the reality is heavier than my strength, and the war has taken away our choices and our time.
In this new year, I am not asking for the impossible.
Maybe my wishes will come true.
Maybe my children will grow up remembering that someone stood by them in their darkest days.
We are still dreaming, despite everything.
And we still believe that kindness has not disappeared.🙏

I’m writing these words with a heavy heart and a sense of shame…
It’s not easy for a doctor and pharmacist who has dedicated their life to serving people to reach out and ask for help, but circumstances are harsher than any pride.
My pharmacy was completely destroyed by the war,
and my home wasn’t spared either… and I no longer have any source of income to support myself and my family.
I was forced to reopen a simple pharmacy, a tent,
offering no protection from the winter cold or the rain,
and with the recent storms, the tent itself was ruined,
and I continue to work in unbearable conditions,
but only because I don’t know how to stop or give up.
The situation is extremely difficult… and the need is dire,
and the hardest thing is the feeling of abandonment,
when you feel alone,
and that many of the people you stood by didn’t stand by you in this time.
I’m not asking for luxury,
nor anything more than what’s necessary.
I’m asking for a life of dignity and a chance to get back on my feet.
Whoever can help, even a little,
may God reward them on behalf of me and my family.
And whoever can’t, please share this post.
Forgive me… The pain is immense,
