Unable to use system for 4 days. Paid for 3mths subscription

I joined 4 days ago paying the recommended 3 months subscription. I immediately downloaded my CV and completed mandatory fields. After 1 day looking at an empty dashboard (ie not even 1 suggetsed job) while applying to at least 3 jobs in my Scrum master field via LinkedIn and Seek, I reached out to Better apply by only available way (email). Received an email advising that they couldn't find my account. I provided evidence of my payment as well as additional email address and screenshot shoiwng my account exists in their system. I emailed Betterapply again this morning as I have not received a response, nor has my dashboard changed, asking to cancel my membership and provide a full refund. A system that is supposed to help me and save me time, it's taking my time away from looking for a job as well as money I don't have. Very dissapointed

Asks to upload a PDF résumé instead of Word.
Even though I uploaded it during onboarding, it didn't keep it, and also asks me to manually re-enter every job experiences I had even though it's already in the CV.

Lacks a lot of basic features like filtering by salary, location, etc.

The overall app experience feels like it was vibe-coded so I don't feel safe with my data being there.

So no, it doesn't feel "Better" than any other platform I can think of.

I paid for 3 months and when I opened the site I had 20 job matches. All were within a different industry than I was interested in and all the positions were temporary as well as manual entry meaning I might as well have just went to the corporate websites to apply for them.
The marketing promises higher pay and faster job search but it's extremely lacking. I wouldn't waste my time if I knew what the product was and honestly I would probably like and deserve a full refund.

Attempting to cancel now

Attempting to cancel now, it was my understanding this website would auto apply to jobs that fit my skill set and that they would be remote an onsite work. Only remote, many are in different time zone. Does not auto apply. It is basically indeed or zip with their one click apply feature. Emailed both weird looking customer support email an just added .com to the email they provided will update. Would not recommend.

If you’re currently only seeing remote roles or positions in different time zones, it’s typically based on the filters and information set in your account — and this is something we can quickly adjust with you.

Regarding the auto-apply feature, it does function differently from traditional job boards like Indeed or ZipRecruiter, as it’s built to submit applications on your behalf once your profile and targeting preferences are fully optimized. It does not auto apply for most jobs and most job matches are not what I am qualified for. Feels like a waste of money.

This website is a scam. I've been trying to cancel my subscription, and the only way to do it is by sending an email to a fake/incorrect email address that bounces back every single time.

terrible job matching

terrible job matching. little to no non-remote jobs, ai targets things on the other side of the continent and gives them priority. auto-apply has never gone through once.

Luke warm start

Will update as I continue to use this and see whether it’s worthwhile. Have paid for 3 months and it immediately tries to upsell you to every service, and it’s not made clear in any of the marketing you pay extra for each feature.
Initial job matches aren't appearing relevant at all. Scrolled all the way through the 100+ matches and found the bottom 6 roles are relevant 
they’re also roles I already applied to and are THREE months old and I’m not convinced some are still open, as I couldn't find them on the actual company’s website.
Please note these are very early first impressions and if things get better I will update this review, but so far I’m not impressed. Would rather have spent my January pennies on anything else!

A few notes on the points you mentioned:

1. Our upsells are completely optional, non-essential add-ons for people who need extra-specific help. The vast majority of users don’t need them at all, and you don’t lose the main value without them. BetterApply is designed to work well on its own, and the upgrades are simply there for users with more unique roles, preferences, or situations.

2. You definitely shouldn’t have to scroll through tons of matches to find relevant roles. Using the filters (match score, location, remote/on-site, titles, etc.) should help you surface the best fits much faster. And if you’re still not seeing relevant results, it could be a preference/setting issue — please reach out to our support team and we’ll investigate and help as quickly as possible.

3. We show openings as long as companies keep them listed, and we also run regular checks to remove inactive roles. Some positions stay open for months (slow hiring or ongoing hiring), so “older” doesn’t always mean “closed.” If you do spot roles that are actually closed, you can report them directly in the job post — that helps us remove them faster and flag companies that repeatedly keep closed listings live. If a company consistently does this, we’ll stop showing their postings.

In some cases, certain browsers (or settings like strict privacy mode, cookie blocking, ad blockers, or opening the page in a new tab) will restart the clock when you refresh — which makes the timer appear to reset. That behavior is controlled by the browser/session handling and isn’t something we can fully prevent on our side in every case.

That said, we agree it should be clearer, and we’re updating the timer so it doesn’t come across the wrong way.
