"Let's decorate the christmas tree," she said as she looked at him, her lips stretched into a smile. He looked at her amused, his brows raised as he considered her words.
"We can just compel the staff," Klaus said glibly, but she was already shaking her head. Getting up from her place and moving to stand before him.
"Come on Klaus, please, I just want a normal Christmas."
"That, I'm afraid, won't be possible, given the legions of enemies chasing us," he looked convinced that someone would ruin their holidays, a fear she knew about from the nightmares he was beginning to have. She had always dismissed Klaus' paranoia, but living with him was showing her the true extent of it.
He couldn't even relax in his sleep.
She tucked her hair behind her ear, those nightmares were the very reason she wanted to so this. To try and help him get through this season without losing his sanity.
(Which seemed flimsy on the best of days).
She eased herself into his lap, and he looked at her in exasperation, as though he knew what she was doing. Her arm wrapped around his neck as she shifted closer to him, her head buried in the crook of his neck.
"We're literally in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains, no one will find us Klaus. Come on, I wanna end this year on a high note."
He sighed, but she knew she'd gotten to him when his hand moved to rest on her waist, pulling her closer to him. She basked in his warmth as he pressed his lips to her temple.
"Very well, if you insist."
