What if a random dude off the street all of a sudden calls himself Jesus and gains a cult following who believe he’s the second coming of Christ and follow him around but they don’t do anything bad. Like they actually do Jesus type shit like feed the hungry and take care of people. Would that be a bad thing? Like, they’re very obviously participating in cult like behavior following this likely insane man around, but if they’re doing good, should we stop them?

i think maybe you aren’t fully understanding the difference between a cult, a religion, & a religious sect / movement, if he & his followers didn’t do anything shitty & controlling, that would not be a cult, that would be a new religious sect of christianity, if he wasn’t doing it based on christianity or any other already existing religion, it would be a new religion, & if he was being shitty & controlling to a high control degree that made his followers a very dependant group with limited access to information & self advocacy, it would be a cult even if there was NO religious aspects at all

that is perfectly fair, i was just musing about how i’ve been seeing it used as like, blanket terms for the trans community recently & how people applying these terms to me has been uncomfortable for me personally because to me being male has always been when i feel comfortable being feminine & vice versa & i get upset when people equate femininity with being a woman or masculinity with being a man as if they are interchangable & The Same instead of simply connected

"Why not make female heroes more feminine so girls know you don't have to be masculine to save the world" is misguided. The target audience of heroic adventure genre is not children who actually save the world in a literal sense, it's children who want a cathartic outlet for the struggles and injustice they face. And one of the most common types of injustice that many girls and children assumed to be girls are subjected to is forced feminization.

i feel like Sir Pentious & Alastor's human designs kind of give very unfortunate implications, bc like, now it's canon that dying & going to hell made Pen's skin go from pale to literally the colour black, & becoming a powerful demon made Alastor's skin lighter & hair pin straight

also, it means we have 2 human backstories, 1 where a white guy arms dealer is portrayed as just a scared lil bean that feels so sorry & was the first redeemed soul, & 1 where a mixed race Black man is an evil irredeemable serial killer who delights in killing white people before being humbled & turned into a pet

Sir Pentious is covered in snake scales and is potentially supposed to represent a oil slick because hes a mechanic and would be covered in oil. It may also be to allude to his isolated status in life, a shadow compared to others.

Now Alastor

You pale a bit after you die and hes supposed to be like a wendigo, so hes supposed to be corpse like.

It may also deal with him being a cannibal because the town of cannibals are very ghostly in the same way in paling.

He possesses a humanoid form, vastly more so than Alastor. His body resembles that of a reptile, which, in nature, are often darker hue for purposes of concealment.
