activist and cattle rancher. chabot helped establish one of the longest running artist’s markets in new mexico and helped take photographs for the works progress administration. chabot was also the planner / general contractor for georgia o’keeffe’s abiquiù home, which she designed herself. most of her lasting romantic relationships were with women, most notably a six-year romance with printmaker and book artist dorothy stewart ( right ) from 1933-39. ⚢
