Live (LL01) is the first collection of live recordings from Lifted. Recorded at rehearsals and shows since 2022, these extracts showcase how Lifted songs go from collaborative pieces, made in combination with guest musicians, to collage works. Matt Papich and Max D perform with dual CDJ setups, taking the stem tracks and individual takes from the studio versions of their songs, and creating new shapes, embracing harmonious smush. Almost like a digital approach to Philip Jeck's creaked mixing, or early 00's turntable elseworlds, the duo goop and rub all of the sound sources into new and surprising shapes, changing every show. The efforts are made so tactile and time-bending by the capabilities of CDJs, and the combinations feel infinite. This is the start of Lifted's live documentation, more to follow.
