Every few days, a miscellaneous fandom reinvents racial stereotypes and heteronormativity but it's always for their fave gay ship.
im starting to think fandoms dont like women

Or queer men unless they exist solely to indulge your fetish and not be treated like real people
i was talking about women actually
liking popular characters and ships but in a way that’s completely different from the majority of fandom is like being in the middle of the ocean and dying of thirst because the water around you is undrinkable
Sasha, I WILL destroy you someday
You can’t, I’m a national treasure ;)
you do know its remarkably easy to buy an axe in central london, right?
Aww but you love me
Are y'all roleplaying on a post about my dead brother?

not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead

Making a comment to get this to post.
You do not get to take someone else’s OCs for yourself just because you don’t like how their creator is treating them.
It’s 2025 and I still somehow get surprised with how much people go apeshit over imaginary people
What a wonderful piece of media! Surely the fandom will be literate and normal
Posts that read like a scrap of paper found clutched in a skeleton's hand found post apocalypse.
I know I’m not the first person to say this but fandom’s seeming need to shove any character dynamic into some kind of familial role (siblings, father-son, mother-daughter etc) increasingly feels just as stifling and dismissive of platonic love as making every relationship romantic does.
I dunno man do you view all of your close friends as siblings cause I sure don’t. and I definitely don’t think of them as parents
no joke i really love discovering a fandom for some weird show or internet thing ive never heard of in my life and then promptly discovering that said random is batshit and full of the most vicious hateful infighting possible
especially when the media at hand is completely shallow nonsense projects by random nobodies and there are people on tumblr willing to kill and die for their headcanons this happens to me like twice a week
you cannot headcanon your way out of overt thematic structures on which the entire narrative is built
#but damn if a fandom won’t try (derogatory)

as a hater, it's important to keep in mind that true fandom is a long game. for example, yeah, it's fucking annoying when you genuinely enjoy a show or something for multiple reasons and it happens to have gay people (or people who could be read as gay) in it and so the fandom gets flooded with the kind of fans who are literally just here for the "Hot New Thing to Slash Ship" and therefore have bad opinions on everything because they think entirely in shallow fanfic tropes and are going to get mad every time something doesn't line up perfectly with their fanfics, but with time they will move on to the next "Hot New Thing to Slash Ship," and you'll realize your real enemy is and has always been That One Blogger who Sincerely Loves this Show as Much as You But Has the Worst Fucking Opinions on Planet Earth.
Oh boy I can't wait to see what kind of posts are in my favorite character's tag! :D
