Biography

[edit]

Closer joined Team Vulture following the departure of Marex, debuting against P3P eSports in the team's first game back after forfeiting their 3 previous ones. The team lost, but Closer remained on the starting line-up and they won the final 3 games to make it to the playoffs after wining the tiebreaker against ATLAS eSports Team. After losses against P3P eSports and ÇİLEKLER, Closer's debut split ended in a 4th place finish.

In the summer season, Closer joined Beşiktaş e-Sports Club for the 2017 TPL Summer Season. The team secured a playoffs slot after going 7/-/3 in the regular season, but failed to come short for a championship title with a loss against HWA Gaming. This resulted in Closer taking a break for the following season, before eventually joining Royal Bandits in the TCL 2018 Summer Season, reuniting with former Beşiktaş e-Sports Club teammate Dumbledoge. Royal Bandits dominated the regular season, securing a 22/-/6 record and the first seed for playoffs. Despite their regular season domination, Closer came short of securing his first TCL title with a 1-3 loss against SuperMassive Esports in the finals.

Ahead of the 2019 season, Closer stuck with Royal Bandits, with the organisation rebranding to Royal Youth and most of the starting roster changing. Despite the other 3 players changing, Dumbledoge remained on the team alongside Closer. Royal Youth placed 3-4th in the winter season. This resulted in more changes heading into summer, with Royal Youth replacing GBM and Dumbledoge with cyeol and Tolerant. They dominated the summer season, only losing a game against 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports and İstanbul Wild Cats. The team continued dominating in playoffs, beating SuperMassive eSports in a 5-game finals, handing Closer his first TCL title and qualifying the team for Worlds 2019.

At Worlds 2019, Royal Youth was placed into a group with DAMWON Gaming and Flamengo eSports. DAMWON Gaming went undefeated, while Royal Youth and Flamengo eSports split games with Royal Youth edging out in the tiebreaker game. Despite surviving the play-ins group, Royal Youth failed to qualify for the main event with a 0-3 loss against North America's surprise Worlds attendant, Clutch Gaming.

Heading into 2020, Closer joined Golden Guardians to make his debut in the LCS. The team edged out on a playoffs slot after winning their final games in the season, securing them 6th place in playoffs with a 8/-/10 record, after winning the tiebreaker against Dignitas. In playoffs, the team was eliminated in a 3-0 fashion by the eventual finalists, FlyQuest. Heading in the summer, Golden Guardians made changes to their roster, permanently promoting huhi, while signing Damonte as their new midlaner. This resulted in a 9/-/9 record in the regular season, good for a 5th place spot in the regular season. In playoffs, Golden Guardians surprised everyone by beating TSM 3-0 in the upper bracket. Team Liquid selected them as their next opponent, resulting in a 3-0 loss for Golden Guardians and another matchup against TSM. After a 2-0 lead, the team failed to close it out and was reverse sweeped, resulting in a 5-6th place finish and many fans wondering how far the team could have gotten.

Ahead of 2021, 100 Thieves acquired 4/5th of the Golden Guardians roster: Closer, Damonte, FBI and huhi would join Ssumday. This was widely regarded as a direct upgrade, with the team getting to a good start right away with a 3-4th place in the LCS 2021 Lock-In tournament, getting reverse sweeped by Cloud9. In the spring season, 100 Thieves placed 4th in the regular season with a 11/-/7 record, and would have the same result in playoffs after a 3-1 loss against TSM. Heading into summer, teammate Ssumday acquired his residence status and 100 Thieves signed Abbedagge as a new midlaner, with Reapered taking over as a head coach. 100 Thieves placed second in the regular season and in playoffs they beat Evil Geniuses, Cloud9 and eventually Team Liquid to take the LCS title, making 100 Thieves the 5th ever organisation to win the LCS.
