Gao "Ein" Kun (born August 11, 1990) is a retired Chinese Terran player who is currently playing for SCBoy.
Biography
[edit]Before playing SC2, during Brood War, Ein played Zerg as the same as XY.
He is well known among the Chinese circles as consistently the rank 1 Grandmaster player on the Chinese server.[1]
Wings of Liberty
[edit]He participated in many tournaments such as 2011 Chinese Battle.net Invitational, G-League and so on but he didn't still get the better result.
He used Ein as the earliest ID. then he used iek. Before Heart of the Swarm, he returned his earliest ID - Ein.
At that time, he attended many offline tournaments.
Heart of the Swarm
[edit]Though in many tournaments, he used to use his new ID - (Hist.)YyKk, Ein is still his main ID at least showing on the list of players.
He is still one of the most strong Terrans in Mainland China. It is thought that if he could attend offline tournaments, he should play better than XY after Loner became inactive, then retired.
2015 Kung Fu Cup Season 1
[edit]In this tournament, he proved his strength. PiG couldn't suit his rapid rhythm and lost to him. If Kane and he played without high lag, it was thought Ein should win. However, Kane could not play due to last minute travel commitments due to 2015 WCS Season 2. Ein entered Ro16 luckily. Though he lost to XiGua once, he beat NaNiwa (so he is the new No.1 of non-Korean players?) and XiGua continuously. He is the only one Chinese player in Ro8 of this cup.
2015 WCS Season 2
[edit]Though he beat Top and Cyan in the Ro12(group stage #2) of GPL 2015 Season 1 Premier League, which advanced him to the playoffs, he couldn't attend this offline portion of the tournament due to family issues. He was replaced by Cyan who was eliminated in his first match of the playoffs.
Legacy of the Void

[edit]In order to get better result in Starcraft League 2015, X-Team signed Ein and ByuN. Although Ein couldn't come to Shanghai for the playoffs, he still gave the result by 6-1 and help X-Team become the winner.
GPL 2015 Season 3 (WCS 2016 Winter)
[edit]Because GPL 2015 Season 3 Premier League is an online tournament, he felt he could get the winner though at last, he only got the third place due to the failure to Cyan.
Trivia
[edit]- Ein means "a" or "an" in the German language and one in German is Eins in fact. He wish he is No.1 in Chinese SC2. He may also use this ID which links with Einstein.
- Ein and the Chinese amateur zerg player 10x played a 7 hour 2 minute and 44 second mech vs swarmhost game on Alterzim Stronghold when they met on the Chinese ladder, the longest recorded game among high level players.[2]
- He also got the nickname 'Bonjwa of Stim' because he would often over-stim his marines and marauders.
- He is thought to be the teacher of TIME. However, the style of TIME is not very similar with him - TIME hardly over-stims his marines and marauders unless he is too nervous. ByuN should be the teacher of TIME because TIME copied his TVP style more than Ein's.
