Masterpost

Hello, and thank you for your attention!

I’m Litsen, quite of a mess of a person from France. I’m in my mid-30s and I try to do things… Can’t promise to be coherent or to make sense. Please, bear with me 😅

I mostly post about BG3, especially about Astarion, through screenshots and gifs, but also personal opinions and analysis of the characters, and also through a few fanfics, sometimes centred on my Durge, Ellith, and sometimes not (I like writing from the general “you” pov to explore some Astarion fluff or angst).

Oh and just in case you’re not sure, I’m kinda genderfluid/nonbinary, and you can use any pronouns when you talk about me, I really don’t care (But I’ll always respect your pronouns of course 💜)

Also, here, you’ll get some information about my blog (and myself) + I have the personal stufftag for my life and rants, and the pet family tag for the fluffy babies!

Ah! And if you strongly disagree with me; it’s ok. We can agree to disagree. But if you feel like being insulting, disrespectful and/or passive aggressive, you should unfollow [/block] me right now. It will be better for both of us.

Also: if you think using Gen AI is okay - or /can be okay sometimes/ - just unfollow me.

Thank you! 🙏

Requests and asks:

Just so you know, if you have any request in terms of Astarion screenshots (a dialogue or cutscene in particular, an expression, body language, or photomode silliness, that kind of thing…), feel free to send it to me.

Likewise, if you have a question about my interpretation of a scene, or a dialogue or banter, my askbox is open! It also works for my Durge, if you ever have questions about Ellith 🖤

I can’t promise I’ll do everything you might ask, but if I can and if it inspires me, I will. ✨

Ah, and here are the specs about my current computer system.

And finally, life has been tough lately, since gen AI is stealing my job and I’m very broke, so if you like my stuff, if you want to help me and if you can afford helping, I have a kofi here💜

I’m also on Discord for mutuals (only) - Feel free to dm me here so we can get in touch 💕✨

Would your OC(s) accept?

Miss Fortune would do anything for Gale, no questions asked, this included. And seeing as they visit him in Waterdeep quite often post-adventure, to the point where Gale and Rolan work together for an entire year to cast a permanent teleportation circle between Gale's Tower and a secret room inside Miss Fortune and Astarion's home, they would be able to do the class at any time.

What would the lecture be about?

No Components? No Problem: Self-Defense for the Magic User

In a kind of reverse lesson from the ones Gale gave them on incorporating magic into their melee fighting to enhance their prowess and get themselves out of a bind, Miss Fortune would teach spellcasters how to add hand-to-hand or dagger combat into their close-range spellcasting or how to survive/get the upper hand in a scenario where they are silenced/out of components or spell slots.

Would they do it alone or with their partner(s)?

Astarion would come along initially for moral support, taking a seat in the back of the class and propping his feet up. But once he saw the spellcasters coming up to demonstrate moves with Miss Fortune were "positively hopeless, darling," he would come to the front to help them show everyone how it's really done and wind up staying with them for any other demonstration needs (read: he's having fun).

Should anyone dare to scoff at his beloved, he'll shoot them a murderous glare so foul the recipient of such a look will have to roll a constitution save to avoid soiling themselves on the spot.

Astarion and irony, my two cents.

Alright so I was reading this post on reddit about how Astarion's charisma is not that good, and how cringe and awkward he's when he flirts. Very interesting reading, the comments too were inspiring.

Although I agree with a lot of things written by the OP, I wanted to give my two cents... and it turned into a little 'essay'. So I thought I could post it here too.

(As always, it's only my pov, and I don't expect anyone to agree)

Indeed, you can easily tell that his beauty was enough for him to pick up victims for Cazador. With a smile like this, it doesn’t take too much effort to seduce people, especially vulnerable, desperate/drunk targets.

But there’s also something that is rarely addressed: Astarion's dark sense of humour, self-derision and tragical irony. It’s particularly visible in the mirror scene (“tell me I’m beautiful and we can call it a day” with that smirk, or his approval if you tell him you find another companion prettier). Also the dialogue about how you (I'll be using the general you) would prefer to die, or who you would bite; they're all dripping with sarcasm and irony. Likewise, when he tells you, after the first night, that the others could probably hear you from camp: he's jesting, because he's feeling comfortable for the first time in 200 years.

And even the dialog about his favorite pick up lines. Of course he's still trying to seduce you, but I think he's perfectly aware that those “lines” are over the top and won’t work on you. You just challenged him to find something better that "my little treat", so he gives you the worst .

To me, it seems like he knows how ridicule it is, and that’s precisely why he quotes them with so much emphasis. It's dramatic in a sense, because he's doing what he was forced to do for years, although he knows he doesn't have to do it anymore. "His favourite lines" he calls them, although he must hate them (hence the dark look upon his face when he quotes them.); irony again. And no matter how much he must loathe those lines, he seems to be having fun practicing them with you and seeing your reaction. (And if you ask him if he's having fun, i think he's really honest when he says yes, "it's hard not to with you")

For the Horror/Slasher Themed OC Ask Game 🌟

3, 8, 26 please!

Asked by litsenn

Sorry this took me so long, I got distracted as usual! Thank you for the ask <3 I love these questions.

I answered #3 over here :)

8. What would your oc do if they knew they were going to die in the near future?

Before or during the canon story: Jamie has a resigned attitude towards death. Their life so far has been a struggle, and they’re excited for a chance to make something of themself, but that excitement is tempered by their traumatic past and their sense of Self being so scrambled. If they got confirmation during the adventure that they would die soon, they’d tell all their companions everything they wanted to say and then face Death with a cocky grin. They don’t want to die, but fate is fate, and Jamie believes pretty strongly in fate.

But, post-canon, when the Netherbrain has been defeated and Jamie’s sense of Self is secure and they’ve rejected the idea of an immutable fate, they would not go gently into that good night. They would fight in almost every way they could. They built the life they live with their blood and their bare hands, are they not entitled to some gods-damned time?

If they really, truly could not fight it and knew they were going to die soon, they would try to spend their last moments somewhere with fresh air. And with Astarion, if possible.

26. What would it take to “break” your character? What would destroy them completely?

Before or during the canon story: Being the source of a loved one’s suffering in a serious way.

They’d never do it on purpose, but if by some misstep or failure Jamie caused Shadowheart to return to the Sharrans or let Wyll get killed by killing Mizora or allowed Astarion to be abducted by Cazador, etc., they would never be able to move on.

(Thinking about that is part of what helps Jamie stop viewing fate as unchangeable: realizing how much they can influence, and want to influence, others’ paths for the better.)

That’s part of why Jamie isn’t a Dark Urge. If they learned that this mess was their doing and all this blood was on their hands, they wouldn’t know how to forgive themself or start anew.

After the canon story: Returning to a life where they have no one.

Jamie grew up almost entirely alone, and nobody saw them in any meaningful way. But after the adventure and after starting their new life of freedom and love, they’d never be able to go back to an existence where “survival is all that matters.” Other things matter now too. People, mostly. If all their friends somehow died or turned on them, if Jamie ever found themself truly alone, they’d be destroyed.

(As a result of this fear, they have an anxious attachment style that they have to work through.)

You know that moment in act 3 when Orin kidnaps one of your companions or Yenna; well, it can happen at camp, or near the Undercity ruins if you get there very early after reaching the Gate.

And I like how different the events go (some excerpts are from my Durge playthrough, and others from my Lae'zel run)

[Huge shoutout to all this talented cast 🩶]
