I can’t believe guy gamers on Facebook want to argue FemShep has lots of romances, because she gets Javik and James in ME3 Citadel DLC.

Uh, drunken one night stands that aren’t consensual for one party isn’t romance, guys.

FemShep using her hero status and power over an subordinate to pressure him into getting drunk when he’s already said no? That’s rape. At best, dub con. He’s ashamed of it afterward even.

Then, there’s Javik. If you didn’t romance anyone, you wake up in bed with him. You don’t choose to have sex with him. For all other sexual encounters, you’re given a choice to have sex with someone, but not here. That’s taken away from you as a female player. You didn’t want to romance anyone or have sex? Too bad. You’re forced to have sex anyway, and that’s really not okay.

Like James, it’s not funny. It’s serious and disturbing. Forcing someone or being forced yourself into having drunken sex isn’t hilarious and raunchy. These guys on Facebook need to wrap their heads around what qualifies as a romance. Rape isn’t it, dudes.
