we really need to push back on this increasingly common idea that an adult and a child can never have anything in common and should never be interacting outside of very specific, strictly monitored circumstances. growing up my mom would take us to the park and she would also play with the other random kids who were there, I don’t think you can do this anymore. I spent most of my 8th grade lunches hanging out alone with my english teacher talking about books and life and culture, I don’t think this would be allowed anymore. the potential for someone to exploit a child and do harm will always be there, but I think acting like children can never benefit from a friendship with an adult really just harms children in the long run. as a child/teen who dealt with severe mental illness, to this day I still remember the impact that kind adults had on me growing up.
Is it me, or is Present Mic a certified crash-out?
And I don’t mean the “I’ll fight anyone who talks smooth” kind of crash-out. I’m talking Euphoria’s Maddy Perez levels of crash-out.
He’s that ridiculously cool, fun, and easy-going kind of guy — the kind who keeps things light and doesn’t get too serious about life. But the second you mess with him? Don’t even get it twisted. He shifts from laughing and getting along to slam-your-head-into-the-wall heights of fury in 0.2 seconds.
One betrayal, one screw-up, and he’ll have you wishing you hadn’t.
This is what I look like seeing the last season of MHA knowing I’ve been a fan since 2018
I noticed with Aizawa, when he stops looking so tired and aloof, and when his face shows nothing but pure fear, is when he ends up looking closer to his teenage self
He’s scared and you realize how young he actually is sometimes, especially when he had to put his hair up for the news that one time? Because while I know his rugged appearance makes him look a ton older, 30-31 is still very young! He was 29 when the series first started with Deku in middle school!
You can really tell his age in these panels (that the anime didn’t really seem to capture):
fuuuuck i just realized that the future idealized version of myself cant exist without current me being the catalyst for change and doing hard things. has anybody heard about this
Audibly reacted with joy when I heard Present Mic’s voice in the newest episode of vigilantes
There’s something wrong with me
I missed that voice sm

Izuku, looking at his students: Wow, they’re so young.
Izuku: I went to war when I was their age and they’re just babies.
Izuku: …
Izuku: That’s kinda fucked up. Why did people let me do that?
Aizawa: THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL YOU FOR 10 YEARS
I love this pov but it was soo obvious that while Aizawa cared about the well being of his students— like sending Present Mic to the same post as Shoji and Koda— he never actually wanted to pull the kids out of the fight. He saw it something that wasn’t avoidable.
The more I think about the Aizawa-Eri-Mandalay thing the angrier I get
Eri had ZERO connection to Mandalay there’s no rational reason for her to have been transferred to Mandalay besides sexism. Also why would she want to be a single mom to an extra kid.
Besides that, Aizawa and Eri clearly have a close and caring relationship!
Even just looking at the biggest and most famous example from Ch 282:
AIZAWA THINKS OF ERI WHEN HIS LIFE FLASHES BEFORE HIS EYES AND HE CUTS OFF HIS OWN LEG
Not only is he thinking about Eri he is specifically thinking of a cutesy moment. He’s not thinking about controlling her quirk or helping her as a teacher. That man is thinking about a little girl in his care learning a neat trick and excitedly showing him, indicating that they have a fun relationship beyond him being her teacher, especially given the context.
A second important example comes from the aftermath of this event in Ch. 416:
There’s a few things to look at here,
1) Aizawa’s silly little lie- that man tends to be overly truthful and as a whole I would not consider that man silly, yet he tells her that he was “run over by a dump truck” of all things, instead of worrying her. It’s a sweet and protective gesture.
2) Look at them! Look at the familial affection! Adorable! But I digress, he is rubbing her head which isn’t a lot. Aizawa does that with his other students. Eri on the other hand, is basically trying to climb into that man’s lap while he’s in a hospital bed, once again indicating a good amount of familiarity
He was also literally listed as her care taker in previous character info stuff and it just doesn’t make sense to change it.
And if it was changed that’s just going to make Eri feel abandoned and discarded all over again considering what happened with her parents and grandfather. And I don’t think Aizawa would do that to her.
Oh man we’re going places
why is this almost 200 notes
DO NOT DO THIS TO ME
