The post started circulating in my pet industry groups and now it's hit the news, shit is bananas

stuff-for-your-scroll

I fell down this rabbit hole so hard and it just gets worse and worse. Like at the end of the news article about it they have a response from her and…

“UpNorthLive reached out to Boyles to see if she was interested in explaining her side.

This is the statement she sent in response:

‘I would like to address some recent comments regarding my actions. Throughout my career, I have always aimed to maintain a positive and respectful environment. I acknowledge that my decision regarding the splash of color may have crossed certain boundaries, and for that, I sincerely apologize.

When the family left my establishment, they appeared to be happy, and I received no indication of any dissatisfaction at that time. I even provided them with a card and additional treats as a gesture of goodwill. In an effort to resolve any concerns, I issued a refund prior to the online comments made about me.

I understand that my initial apology may not have been perfect, but my intention was to minimize conflict and ensure a positive outcome. It's disheartening to see how some individuals choose to diminish others rather than support them.’”

How can anyone be this stubbornly unable to admit fault? How can you possibly, with hindsight and SO much backlash, not understand how egregious this is??? Completely bananas!

Perhaps the wildest thing though is that the instance that went viral isn’t even the most bonkers one? Like look at this one!

Screenshot of a Facebook comment. Text reads: They did the same thing to my dog and I was pissed. Not only that but they kept my dog over 13hrs and then had the audacity to ask if she could keep him overnight. I was so pissed. I also met a woman who said she yelled at the girl after church one day because she said she should take her to court for coloring her dog without permission. There are a lot of people when you tell them about the situation they know exactly who you're talking about. I ended up taking him to Danielle's K9 on lake city for his grooming and they did an amazing job and everything possible to get as much color out of him the first time there. Now he looks perfect againALT
Picture of a white dog on a grooming table dyed in stripes, mostly blue with some other pops of color. Very bright, very obnoxious, the dog does not look thrilled.ALT
Picture of the same dog at home, held up by presumably owner to show the camera the full back of the dog. The dye has faded a lot but is still very clearly visible presumably lots of time and trips to a different groomer laterALT

It’s so bad that other grooming businesses with similar names are needing to post to explain that they are not the one that dyes dogs bright colours without owners’ consent! Bonkers.

“My excuse is that I’m young lol!” Actually no, friend, that’s not an excuse at all.

Anonymous asked:

hi ominous sign blog! just wanted to let you know that the post you reblogged about the discord bots is sort of misinformation; the op has denounced the post after people explained things. the bots aren't hiding in servers or anything! you can ban just about anyone/anything, even bots that aren't in your discord server already. the bots do exist, and they can be banned, but they're not automatically added to and hidden inside of every server.

ominous-signs answered:

Hi I had the other two people who sent asks about this, thank you guys for letting me know. Replying to this one specifically since it gives an explanation

Still happy I banned those bots anyways despite the information being wrong, but my reblog has now been deleted

Also another anon sent what op had to say abt that post

if vampires existed in real life i think there would be shady companies advertising "organic blood" sourced from "willing donors" who are coincidentally all poor people being paid like $5 per blood donation. and like haughty vegan vampires who only drink a synthetic blood drink thats brewed in a way thats actively worse for the enviroment. and radical traditionalist vampires who go on tiktok and claim that true alpha chads have to drain and kill people and anyone who leaves their victims alive is a liberal cuck. enter the world of hypothetical insufferable vampire politics with me.

My mom once did this. She had the misfortune to own a mid-90’s Ford Windstar when I was a kid and those things were GARBAGE. Right out of the lot the check engine light came on (among other things) and that meant it couldn’t pass state vehicle inspection while brand new.

My mom took it back to the dealership repeatedly, and each time the technicians assured her “Don’t worry, ma’am, it’s all been taken care of!” only for the light to come back on by the time she brought it to the inspection site, which meant she couldn’t register it and technically had no legal means of transportation. All of this happened while she was juggling several young children and a full-time job.

I don’t know exactly how many times she took that minivan back to Ford, but finally she hit her limit. Whatever hapless Ford employee picked up the phone that day found themselves on the receiving end of 5 feet of midwestern FURY. The enraged abuse she unleashed on the dealership that day got them to agree to take that van back and fix the original problem free of charge while she received a loaner vehicle, something she had never received before. When she picked me up from school that day I was amazed to see my tiny mother rock up to the door in a monstrous lifted quad-cab 4x4 F250 so huge I couldn’t see her over the dashboard. This thing had to be worth at least double the shitbox my mom had been driving, and while I know she would never have chosen such a vehicle herself, I think she drove that colossal pickup truck with a kind of spiteful satisfaction to pick up groceries and take her kids to soccer practice and jazz band.

After several weeks driving around in this beast, my mother received a call from the dealership requesting their truck back, to which my mom immediately snapped, “Did you fix my van yet?!”

They fixed the check engine light.
