i wish i could upload faster/more often but i have been busy & tired. i did make a number of small updates today though! including links to VPN leak checks, where to find roms and emulators, more torrenting sites, and a small dictionary section that has VERY SIMPLE definitions of some words that i used.

A Toast to the Alchemists
Alchemists, you were right, it is possible We have the proof now. There are equations.
If you could come back for a day, if you could conjure yourself into this chemistry classroom, if you could read the textbook or watch the professor writing the answers on the board …
Alchemists, you would see that you were right, even though you didn’t know about alpha and beta radiation, even though you didn’t understand isotopes, you knew it was possible, that some elements can change into other elements, that transmutation can occur.
Alchemists, there is proof now that it is possible, although each new element, having a brief half-life, would keep changing into other things.
Alchemists, you were right, you can make anything, anything, uranium, plutonium, tel- lurium, mercury, copper, cobalt, platinum, silver, and gold, you can make gold, an isotope so radioactive it would sparkle before your eyes.
For a second I didn’t realize it meant “high” as in a stoner–I thought “High Geologist” was like a rank of geologist or something and he was insulted you would challenge him to naming stones
The final chapter. I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who read this whole thing. Butterfly was the first fanfiction I ever published, and the longest single story I’ve ever written. It came out so much better than I could have hoped, and it served as my gateway into a wonderful community of fellow fans. Thanks for everything, and I hope to keep writing more in the future.
My favourite thing about this is, he didn’t even have to call him ‘Captain’ he could have used the screen-name but he was SO MARRIED TO THE IMMERSION that he DID.
So I found this coconut on the beach in Costa Rica and when I opened it THIS was inside. I think it’s the endosperm (or whatever you call the thing that develops into the tree). The coconut water itself wasn’t as sweet as usual (probably because it had sprouted), but the little sprout boi tasted sweet on one end and salty on the other. (submitted by @jewishpangolin)

dude i have no idea how to tell you this but i have no idea what this is. i showed this to my plant anatomy professor and one of the mods at @thebashfulbotanist after class and none of us could figure out what this is. it doesn’t look like a fungus, the embryos in coconuts are tiny and don’t look like this, and the first thing a coconut sprouts is a root, not the stem, and it grows outward. there should be nothing normal like this growing in there. my plant anatomy teacher has never seen anything like this and has offered to forward this image to a palm researcher she knows to see if he has. i repeat, we have no idea what you ate but it was not a normal sprout boi. please stand by
