Went back to bluesky and immediately got hit with puritanical censorship of sexual content with wording so vague that it somehow beat Patreon on the stupidity.
Like even real people don't say 'I CONSENT' evey minute of the sexual activity. Hell, most has already established it prior and only speaks up when consent is revoked but this is also contextual because in BDSM safewords exists foe this so they can do roleplay safely. A piece of art is a snapshot and it's ART. It could be consensual and some idiot can argue it's not because the partner is not smiling or some shit. And let's nor even start on BDSM because most of it can come under the 'dangerous' clause if the person looking at it is uneducated about the topic and ignore context. And also with non consent because a lot of people like bondage and again, idiots cam look at that snapshot of visual art and say it's 'nor consensual because the other person is helpless'.
Moving on to writing, it's the same thing. A lot of smut and erotica are FANTASIES. Yes, some might be more grounded but it is meant to be fantasy. Consent is already given to engage with that fantasy if you read the damn thing, and if not, STOP READING. Fictional characters and fictional. They are made up to create a story and scenerio. They are NOT REAL. You cam criticise whether something is written well or if something is portrayed well, but there is NEVER any good reason to resort to censorship.
And frankly, I do not trust the Bluesky moderation team to be educated on these things considering what we saw of how these ToS are written. They are also very happy to allow extreme right wing users to spout hateful shit against real people, often marginalised people, but a drawing with sexual content meant for adults? Immediately bannable offense.
