"Who's the lucky person?" panel 8: Avid, with a cluster of flowers in his hand, kneeling and reaching to pick more flowers. "Huh?" he says, looking back. panel 9: Drift in her regency era suit holding her tophat to her head as she leans forwards, smiling at him. Avid looks confused. panel 10: Almost the same panel, but avid frowns and says "Lucky person? What do you mean?"

Panel 1: Drift straightens up a little, and just smiles at him expectantly. Panel 2: Avid frowns, visibly confused Panel 3: Present-Drift smiles Panel 4: Past-Drift huffs a laugh Panel 5: "The flowers, man, who are they for?" Drift elaborates. Panel 6: Avid looks down at the flowers, "Oh, er," Panel 7: Looks back at Drift, "Me, mostly. But I mean, you as well if you need them, really anyone in Oakhurst—" Panel 8: he cuts himself off abruptly and his eyes go wide Panel 9: then his face sours into a scowl, "E-except Scott!!" Panel 10: He turns his face away with a pout, "Not that he's going to need them as a vampire, anyway."

Panel 1: Drift lifts a hand to her chin and frowns, "You're picking flowers for everyone except Scott?" Panel 2: Drift appears to have some kind of a thought Panel 3: Present-day Drift snorts to herself Panel 4: Avid looks back up at Drift, "Oh, no no, I'm not really picking the flowers. I'm after the leaves." Panel 5: Drift looks at him in surprise, "The leaves?" Panel 6: Avid gets to his feet, "Yes, this is yarrow." Panel 7 & 8: The dialogue overlaps over both of these panels continuously. Avid hands Drift a leaf, who takes it in her hand and looks at it puzzled. "Well, I mean the flowers are alright, I'm not planning to discard them or anything. I can still use them, they're not that dissimilar to chamomile—but the leaves are an astringent." Panel 9: Avid awkwardly scratches at his neck bandages, "They, uh. If you crush them you can use them to stop wounds bleeding." Panel 10: Present-Drift turns her face away into the shadows Panel 11: Past drift exclaims "Woah, thats so cool!"

panel 1: Avid smiles at Drift panel 2: then points to her feet, "That's waybread at your feet." panel 3: Drift looks down, "huh?" panel 4: Avid crouches down and begins to pluck one of the leaves of a plant, "'S also called plantago, grows everywhere." panel 5: He looks up at her, "It soothes wounds if you make it into a poultice, and it soothes fevers if you make it into a tea." panel 6: Drift's cheeks flush and she frowns, "What? No way dude! You're pulling my leg, that's just a leaf!" panel 7: Avid smiles at her again, "I'm not, I swear!" panel 8: he points somewhere off-screen, "there's even some mugwort over there. That's good for nerves"

panel 1: Drift looks to where he's pointing panel 2: then points to somewhere else and eagerly asks, "What about that one?" panel 3: Present-day Drift fills up a glass of water at the sink panel 4: she gazes into the glass panel 5: she looks off somewhere, "I could teach you some stuff about plants now y'know, bud." We only see the back of her head from this point on. panel 6 & 7: "I spent a few years in England after we got out of Oakhurst. They got this idea from the French, that every flower and plant has a meaning."

We only ever see the back of Drift's head on this page. Panel 1: Drift looks upwards, "'Floriography', they called it. A way to send secret messages with just flowers." panel 2: She scratches sheepishly behind her ear, "I grew a little obsessed, if I'm honest." panel 3: her hand falls, "Though, I don't think the Orchid Killer was sending me a message of luxury and beauty, hah." panel 4: she looks towards the window, "Wonder what you'd think of it all. Your bouquet of secret words." panel 5: She's silent for a moment, then murmers "Yarrow, huh..." and opens the window panel 6: she pours the water into the flower box panel 7: then reaches for one of the stems and holds the plant between her fingers, "'A cure for heartbreak and sorrow'."
