Currently watching: I can’t believe it but since the start of 2026, I started so many animes at the same time x’D last year I was like around 2 each seasons >0<)’ right now I’m watching Frieren s2 obviously, Champignon no Majo, Maou no Musume wa Yasashi Sugiru, Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai, and I plan to start Trigun s2 soon. Also I started an older anime called Niehime to Kemono no Ou since a week. And not anime but I’m watching the drama Nirvana in Fire!

A pink flash passes over my head, and I already know that we will be well protected again today. Atom Eve is truly a heroine I admire; she has incredible power and could do whatever she wants with it, yet above all else, she wants to use it to help people. I want her autograph so badly! Suddenly, a lightning bolt seems to streak across the sky: an armed alien woman has just appeared. This is definitely a job for Atom Eve! Will this new threat cause sparks to fly?
❤ Aesthetically, the game stays true to the spirit of comics: the cutscenes are divided into panels with beautiful illustrations in vibrant colors, enhanced with animations, both in the sound effects and the backgrounds, making everything particularly dynamic. The combat also adopts this style, reinforcing each impact and effectively setting the pace for the rounds.
❤ Among our superheroes, several iconic figures from the series make an appearance, but the story clearly places Atom Eve at the center of the action (if there was any doubt left despite the title). This approach allows for much more character development than in the animated version, skillfully alternating between more intimate moments in her life and her heroic interventions. The dialogue choices also offer the possibility of slightly influencing her temperament, making her more feisty or measured, without ever betraying her comic book DNA. The other protagonists, although more secondary, retain the essence of what made them endearing in the series. ❤ The soundtrack is driven by pop-infused tracks, including a very catchy menu theme. The ambient music perfectly complements both the tense scenes, with their rising intensity, and the quieter, even romantic moments. Environmental and sound effects are equally impactful, bringing the story to life. It’s almost a shame that the dialogues aren’t dubbed, especially since the cast of characters already exists, even if this is just an insignificant detail.
+/- The story has several sparks of connection with the main series, as it takes place in parallel to it. For players already familiar with the universe, this will bring a pleasant sense of familiarity and will in no way spoil the story, as this time it is experienced from Atom Eve’s point of view. The romances with Rex and Mark also fit within canon, without being mandatory, which is a welcome choice if we don’t want to reduce our heroine to a romantic storyline. However, their development is a little uneven in my opinion; while staying friends with Rex makes their relationship a little strange and is much better structured in its romantic aspect, Mark’s romance, on the other hand, comes across as rushed, far from the deep connection the series had established which is a real shame. For newcomers to the universe, the experience remains largely accessible, even if the game does not seek to introduce or detail certain key elements of the original story (the Guardians, Omni-man…), which could perhaps be confusing. However, the story introduces a new narrative arc grafted onto the canon, led by an enemy who makes a first impression that is as spectacular as it is stylish. Unfortunately, this threat is too diluted among the various plotlines, to the point that the final battle seems almost anecdotal, even rushed. This impression is further reinforced by the short length of the adventure: the story moves at full speed, without taking the time to stabilize its core narrative or fully develop each character. +/- The turn-based combat system is quite fun and has a slight strategic aspect to it. The ability to see the enemy’s next move in advance allows you to anticipate your next actions, whether attack or defense. However, it’s rather poorly balanced. As the story progresses, Eve earns ability points that can be distributed in a skill tree centered around three main branches: empath, creation and firebrand. However, one of these paths proves to be significantly more effective in combat than the others, making encounters increasingly unbalanced. And even if you decide to focus on the other skill branches, the lack of challenge becomes apparent as you become more familiar with the combat, as its mechanics evolve too little. The development of these specializations nevertheless retains a narrative interest, as it can unlock a few alternative lines of dialogue leading to slightly different situations… but the main storyline remains unchanged, ultimately offering only a minimal impact.
✖ The journal and its constant notifications quickly become annoying, and frankly ridiculous when it merely summarizes scenes that have just been experienced. “It’s over between us!” / beep opening the journal / [Rex and I have broken up]……….. thanks for the update. ✖ The game encourages replayability in order to experiment with the different abilities in the skill tree, and includes a sort of NG+ mode that gives bonuses at the start of the game. But the lack of skip option coupled with the absence of manual saving makes this rather tedious. ✖ The French localization suffers from some interface issues, with text sometimes spilling out of dialogue bubbles. A patch apparently fixed this problem in the original version, so it is unfortunate that the French localization did not receive the same treatment.
Following Atom Eve’s ascent in this new episode was a small delight, even if her story sometimes struggles to take off. She remains an likable figure and her battles were engaging enough to face head-on, but her powers alone were not enough to trigger a perfect chain reaction. It may not be an atomic explosion, but this attempt was still a sincere one. I look up at the sky again and see something… Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's…
