This album was inspired by Árni Grétar’s emotional challenges/difficulties that were made public April 2024. I was very affected by the trigger warning Facebook post on April 12th. I started this album that evening. Árni has been an inspiration to me ever since I returned to music making in 2020 during Covid lockdown. His love and passion for virtually all forms of electronic music are evident in releases dating back decades and with his current labels Móatún 7 and Intellitronic Bubble. Árni is a genuine, real and beautiful human being. This album follows an arc from a triggering emotional event to grief, sorrow, acceptance, love, and healing. We all have feelings and emotions from the past buried beneath the surface. If we don’t acknowledge and recognize these unaddressed events and traumas, they will resurface unbidden and cause emotional distress in our daily lives. Only by bravely naming, confronting, working through and sharing these conscious and subconscious emotions (as Árni has done), can we move on towards wholeness and happiness. I don’t know exactly where Árni is on this journey right now, but along with his immediate family and friends, he also has a massive MOA/IB family behind him.
