• Show-Only: Post Dubai/S2. All of this has been cute, and the aesthetics of S1 were particularly gorgeous. But tbh I’ve just been dying to get to the end of this interview already. I want to see MODERN LIBERATION Louis; owning the night with his eyes wide open, finally at peace with his life and his past and looking forward to his future. What’s he doing in Dubai without Armand dictating his every thought & memory? WHO ARE YOU, LOUIS, living alone for the first time in your entire life? • Book canon: The Chateau Era. So many Lestans have been rushing ahead, wanting to see S1/S2 Lestat as he is in the Prince Lestat trilogy, but they’re being way too impatient. Lestat has a LONG character arc & personal journey to get through, before he can even start redeeming himself.

My favorite AMC!IWTV fanfic is Is This Too Much - Weathermood, a canon divergent / fix-it-fic kind of reverse AU, where Louis says NO to Lestat in the church. Granted, it just extends their courtship, so that Louis’ better informed about vampirism (and the REAL Lestat) before he inevitably says YES. But still.

🌃 plan the perfect evening from start to finish for [Omega Louis]! where are they going, what are they doing, who are they seeing?

Like I said in another questionnaire: “Louis just needs to be kept barefoot and pregnant; with a job in the humanities/arts he can work remotely, so he can stay home with his babies; taking care of his beautiful home and beautiful family.”

Louis would be in his third trimester, happy as a clam that he’s made it out of the woods (as male pregnancies are VERY high risk early on), but eager to give birth and see his new babies already. It’s boy twins this time–he knew it before they even got the results back. Twins run in the DPDL blood, after all. But he’s had a string of girls lately; he just knew Patriarch Lestat was just bursting to put the X Chromosome back on the map. Louis’ tidying the boys’ nursery for the 100th time today, waddling around humming jazz to himself as he scents everything, satisfied that it’s all ship-shape–he took charge of everything from the paint swatches and carpet textures, to the placement of the cribs in relation to the Chateau’s windows and the direction of light at sunrise and sunset. His connections through running a highly successful Paris-based art gallery means that his children will have access to the very best in terms of international art, history, fashion, culture.

But they will also be filled to the brim with all the love in the world, from their half-a-dozen other siblings, to their extended family, and of course, their besotted parents. He’s confident about this, as, not even five steps out of the nursery, his water breaks in the middle of the hallway, and the entire castle bursts into an excited cacophony–his eldest, Claudia, rushing out the front door with the keys to get the car warmed up (the Auvergne mountains are so cold in the winter); Madeleine grabbing the baby bags, overnight bags, and snack bags; the twins Viktor & Rose calling & texting all of the family to meet them at the hospital; the littlest girls Grace & Gabby sweetly asking why Mommy just peed himself and if the baby’s ok; and of course Lestat, the biggest baby of them all, sobbing even as he lifts Louis into his arms, swaddles the Omega in his Alpha’s thickest winter coat, and carries him bridal style out of the Chateau and into the car, so the de Lioncourt household can make their way to the hospital to finally greet Paul & Pierre.

Something Met Gala couture. Sheer top, so his pierced & perky manipulation-nipples are in full effect. Snatched waist, pants painted on. High heeled boots the house down, bedazzled ofc. Hair bleached a much lighter shade of blonde, and braided/cornrowed into a mohawk, cuz what is a white fashion icon without cultural appropriation. But his makeup and hair tips/highlights are ombre’d in the Bisexual colors, so you can’t cancel him cuz that would be homophobic! 

✏️ if you could change one thing from canon, what would it be + why?

The Theatre’s deaths would’ve been way more drawn out. I’m talking torture porn.

🔍 something about the modern era not referenced in the books that you think [insert character] would find upsetting or confusing + why?

None of the white vampires have any effing clue what Juneteenth is, and Louis’ sick and tired of having to redirect them to the Vampire Court’s pdf file database he and Khayman carefully assembled precisely to explain why court activities at the Chateau would NOT take place on that day of the year, and why he would NOT be available in his capacity as the Prince Consort until the following evening. He’s had it! Forthwith, he will be instituting mandatory workshops during Black History Month, so these Old World old AF imperialist colonizer vamps understand precisely how their willful ignorance about race & oppression extends beyond America FFS, as their European countries contributed and directly benefited from the rape of Africa–benefits which these rich AF bloodsuckers directly profited from even in their own lifetimes, going all the way back to antiquity, MARIUS, yes I’m looking at you! I heard what you said about Denzel in Gladiator 2 and guess what? No one cares!

Louis’ a hypocritical coward; this is well established. Rolin said they gave him more of a backbone than he has in the books, which is true, but it’s also setting a pretty low bar, lbr.
