Henri seems like a really kind guy. No wonder Luna gets along with her but I hope she's not going to blush too much. At the moment, Henri trusts Luna like a friend. I guess this is the first time Luna hsa been treated this kindly before? Who knows but she should still be careful around town.

2 Eps back-to-back. The day after Luna gave the boy who got rejected, quite the fancy look, Henry comes looking after her, much to her clear terror and shock, whom she left Minos behind. And needless to say, no matter the mushrooms she tries to hide, Anri just takes her breath away being the boy whom she drew to be the partner of her dreams, and it really shows of his Ikemen behaviour towards the Champignon Witch. This though, invites unwanted attention, from the regular townsfolk, and the witch's protectors, whom Henry has been going too close towards her to be escorted back to her home. Despite the pep talk at home, Luna and her familiars instead going back to draw another drawing of the same boy, while the Witch is just beginning to feel heartbroken of avoiding Anri, by having to replace him with the former. The boy of the drawing having to comfort Luna through her heartbreak and consolation, the Witch truly suffers it all seeing Henry be affected by her magic, of which his life is in danger after being tampered with. This is most emphasized by Claude the crow looking after her, and even chiding her to get involved with Henry in the first place, which Luna has to remove the mushroom within him in order to get better, and remove all traces of memory...of which he inherited the mushroom footsteps. And another fate with yet another boy comes her way, though what's for Luna to do with him this time? Ms. Ooja's ED is just so, so, good! Quite a fascinating show that's more than what meets the eye! A Witch falling in love, this is not normal, but Luna's is for sure, one interesting story to look into.

I was wondering who is narrating, guess now we now. These two episodes served as a really nice prologue, lot of build up, info about the world and the witches, no wonder we got both the episodes back to back, it felt like a OVA or something. I really want to see more.

The OP and ED are indeed pretty good. After the last episode it was to be expected that Henri would approach Luna. And while she doesn't know to handle it, his kind words still touched her. It was like the first time someone appreciated the positive side of her magic in front of her. But can't forget that it's a double edged sword. Talk about killing someone with love. It was thoughtless of Luna to keep drawing him. Thankfully, she made it right in the end. Henri ended up forgetting all about her, yet the memories of him along with the feelings will live in her forever. That was a nice bittersweet love story. Gotta say I'm sold and I hope this series will keep up this quality for the remaining episodes.

Sad for Luna and Henri relations, erasing memories is so brutal. But the whole ambiance of the show doesn't seems right to me, fell like at any point, it can turn dark.

We are eating good with this witch, real fantasy setting, with some light disney princess vibes. Good usage of music/bgm; it really helps bringing together the dreamy-esque visuals and the drama/romance out the witch goes through. This is one of the exception where the lack of animation doesn't bother me that much. The moving screenshots are good looking lol. The world building is well done, and sets the tone of the tragic story that's going to unfold (I hope I'm wrong and hope the witch can find some happiness in her journey). The OP and ED are in a class of their own. The best of the season, maybe? Solid premiere. 8/10.

So beautiful. I thought about my own passage of time, and also about my first love -or even previous ones. It's, sometimes, a pain in the ass. But worth living. Love is really the force that drives us. So pure like that mushroom Luna had to extract from Henri. I'm all for a not-so-lighthearted SOL with a real magical world. But I see there is a really big story for the MC so, curious to see that developing

This is adorable. There are so many anime this season that I had never heard of a picked up on a whim, this being one of them, that are off to such an amazing start. I knew I was signing up to watch too many this season and expected to have some I'd want to drop by the end of the month, but this is going to be tough.

@Kai200X Because she didn't just long for someone to talk to, she longed for human connection. Touch. He could sense that and it was only way to give it. But in the end it was a toxic relationship for him and she knew she had to erase it for his own sake.

I just realized that I'm such a sucker for "girl who is 'cursed' or 'disliked' and has to live in solitude" type of stories :') I wasn't expecting to at all, but I cried so hard in this episode. It wasn't because of Henri being nice to her or falling (so easily) for her, but for Luna who innocently thought she could be happy, and for all of that to come crashing down on her. She had reservations about drawing him again, but Henri told her she should keep drawing him, so held onto that happiness. without knowing the consequences. She wasn't stupid though, she stopped when she noticed that Henri had looked tired and his lines had become thin lately. And things might've continued to be bad for her and Henri had Claude not come to warn her. But the guilt she must've felt, and the pain for having to remove his memories of their time together. I really felt for her. It was a quick, yet well-done and emotional love story imo. It a love story that wasn't meant to be. I wonder if it's still romance after this? The narrator, and the guy she meets, looks much smaller/younger in the key visual and in the ED sequence :o Although he looks like maybe he could be around Luna's age at the end of the episode. Anyways, loved these first two episodes! I didn't think it'd be such a serious story. But I guess Gakuen Alice, another one of the mangaka's work, became more and more serious as the story went on, despite having cute elements in it as well.

Another potential hidden gem! Somehow I didn’t even have this on my PTW, but what a great season for Shojosei fans. Wow, we have had some amazing premieres so far and this was one of my faves. First 30 minutes or so are pure wish fulfilment, but fuck it, Luna has been through so much pain, isolation and loneliness in her life that she deserved to feel wanted and loved for a while even if it developed really quickly. I KNEW there’d have to be some catch to everything, no way she just meets the perfect boy of her dreams and everything’s roses and rainbows from that point, but the way everything went down with Henri really hurt me. “When I’m with you it feels like my heart is being purified.” The absolute irony of Henri literally being poisoned by the blossoming love between he and Luna. It’s like the thing you have waited for your entire life is right in front of you and you can’t even touch or enjoy it because its mere presence makes you sick. Such a cruel fate for someone like Luna who’s already had to live in solitude for so long because of no fault of her own. I’m so glad she at least got to experience SOME love and will always have the memory of her first boyfriend 😭 But wait, so the narrator is another hot guy, is this going to be Luna’s true love interest? I’m really interested in this story, Luna is adorable and deserves nothing but the best. The world is so cruel to people who don’t conform to its standards. These sorts of story always make me laugh a bit because I’d be trying to be friends with and learn more about Luna instead of avoiding her. Yes she’s “weird” and different, but that’s cool. Who wants boring people that all look and act the same Loved the first episode and very excited for more!

so...does that mean whoever touched her first or made physical contact with her first would get this reaction from her? I'm just halfway into EP 2 but she better not be in love with this nigga instead what she gotta be feeling is something like appreciation or relief or intense happiness to the point of tearing up. it DOES look like love but tbh, I don't like him. idk if it's his personality or how he was when she first saw him but I don't like him. I want to be with you forever? lmfao. that's so fuckin' unrealistic, man. bro fell so soon? is it because of the drawing or what? if that's the case, then the plot helped it. if it isn't, it's a turn off for me. jeez. oh shit...of course she fell for a drawing. 😭🙏🏾 I like Luna but this episode really didn't do it for me, man. so many mixed feelings towards that boy, Henri. ohhhhh...the drawing she's been hanging with was something like his spirit or soul? or it was a drawing of him but it mirrored his actual self thus forming a connection with it? I see. that explains why he's bedridden. wait wait...she he DID end up falling for her naturally? that was a bit too fast, no? someone tell me, the narrator/the stabbed individual in the pond, is that a female or a male????? all in all, solid 2 EPs. didn't like the 2nd EP that much cause of Henri but the first was good. I sorta have a feeling this anime is gonna be tragic here and there. but I'm all for it.

I really thought it would be, because I misinterpreted the cover poster. I thought that blonde person is a girl. I mean, they're called Lize, that looks like Lise, which is a variant of Elizabeth/Elisabeth, similar to Lisa. That's where I stopped looking into it a few months ago when collecting which anime to watch in the coming season. But nope, they're a boy, apparently. Didn't expect that. My own fault, of course, I know

Man, Luna really didn’t deserve all that hate, honestly. People should be glad she’s even selling medicine to them in the first place. At least Henri seemed to understand and was actually friendly toward her and even a romance was beginning to form but sadly didn’t last long and it looks like he’s forgotten about her. I’m interested to see where the story goes from here.

Henri’s unexpected kindness gives the episode a bittersweet, hopeful core. Episode 2 enriches the story by building a delicate emotional connection between Luna and Henri while reminding us of the larger dangers Luna faces as a stigmatized witch.

I am really curious how the world build is going to be. The crow dude called her a worthless witch. As far as we know she basically keeps the town afloat with her magic. Whats his deal? I am pumped to see the relationship between her and this new person. I wonder if is romantic or just friendly.

@Dao_Seeker Normally, I can barely stand narration, but it seems to be pretty natural here. There was much less in the 2nd episode compared to the first. Plus, since we've met the narrator now, it will probably be restricted to internal monologues from here in out.

What…. this is so sad…. Luna is completely gone from Henri's heart and mind now… T__T Seems like my assumption was wrong.. I think the one connected to Luna or the one who will change Luna's future life isn't Henri but that guy who got stabbed.

I guess that is my second post on here. Usually I just read and enjoy what overs, like Marinate, say. This Anime is fantastique. I have no clue how Luna manages to even clense my heart. More than silent witch, this one is so curing. Rarely a main character can give me so many feelings from the beginning. Luna is just so pure and kind and so very misunderstood that it hurts. Maybe her short love with Henri is her first experience, more to come. I just wish for her to be happy no matter what.

I know I'm biased in this way, but this would have made a perfect yuri set-up. Just saying. Anyway, really enjoyed this episode. I do kind of agree with those complaining about the "Prince" falling for Luna so quickly, but I don't think that is going to be the point of this story. It seemed to just be set-up for Luna's character and journey than an actual plot point. That would explain why the writer didn't waste time moving it along. I guess we shall see how it plays out with the arrival of our new, freshly impaled character. Also, those complaining about the voice over and calling it "exposition." That is called a narrator and is not dumps of exposition, lol. It is a fairy tale and 100% intentional. This gives the illusion the viewer is being read a story.

Romance part felt too rushed and pretty cringe IMO, at least at the start. My question is, was Henri under Luna's spell and that's why he fell for her? That would make more sense. Mushroom that grew in him, did it start to fester in him after ep1 (when Luna used "sparkle, sparkle" magic or a painting of the guy?) Basically, there never was love, he was simply under her spell and almost died because of it. So this episode basically showed us Luna's first romantic experience with sad ending. Here comes the second one.
