This is my first anime review. I don't have any experience giving truly focused or impartial reviews, so this will all be from the point of view of a man in his 20s, in college with few friends, who also likes beautiful things in a certain way.
Puniru feels like complete TRASH; as if in each episode she or he were absorbed by a trash can, which absorbed their properties, and wow! There you have today's episode. That's how I felt when watching each episode, but let's not be so harsh. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if my opinion really changes... It ... didn't, UNTIL.
Okay, I have to say that even though I consider Puniru trash, it always surprises me in an episode or two, and I can get quite sentimental about how they approach the episode since it's literally taking a concept that we were laughing at in every episode until this episode comes along and treats it seriously, with good visual quality and a masterful approach. This can be said to be my opinion for both the first and second seasons. Puniru is a bland work that tries to make you laugh with a slime thing that wants to be the most adorable thing on the face of the earth and wants Kotaro's approval. Until this is achieved, Puniru will always keep thinking about what to become so that Kotaro will finally say “Kawaii” to her (although he has already told her several times that she is quite cute, but he always takes it back in the end). The cast of characters seemed totally empty to me, UNTIL, I don't know in which episode, they all became interesting. Nanpa went from being a Shonen boy who just wants to fight and get strong and have fun, he matured a little and understood how people act in the world Puniru was built in. Okanega went from being the typical rich girl to having very strong values about what she considers cute and not letting herself be swayed by people who say otherwise. And now, the two real protagonists, Hone-Chan and Gou-yan. What can I say about this duo? They are the best in terms of humor in this anime. there are always punchlines, jokes, situations, and comical reactions from the two of them. If I had to pinpoint where the jokes in the series come from, it would be entirely from these two, but they don't just provide the comedy; they can also deliver serious dialogue, especially Gou-yan, who seems to be the more focused of the two now. Hone... Hone is funny and... sometimes he can be right, that's all, I have nothing else to add about him, and I won't talk about Kirara Mami because I hope that in a third season (I HOPE IT COMES OUT) they give her a more in-depth episode apart from showing her family environment. Anyway, Puniru is a bland series if what you want is pure, hard comedy, but in exchange for committing to the 11 or 10 filler episodes that the anime has, you'll find a grain of sugar in the whole bag of salt, and you'll like it. That grain of sugar is the best grain of sugar ever produced. You won't regret it, or at least I want to believe that you won't be disappointed, because I wasn't with those episodes.
