Totally not everyone’s cup of tea, with some flaws, but made with a lot of love!
First of all, a show about proper adults doing adult stuff? No magic bullshit? Not “I died in the office because of overwork, now I am in a world of camping”? Hallelujah, brother! (Especially because socially clueless people can have a peek what adults could behave like.)
Let’s mention the 2 flaws: animation quality is sometimes too cheap, BUT bearable. And the female protagonist’s friends are super annoying. (Both visual design and character) Hopefully the male friend doesn’t turn out to be a complete dick.
Otherwise, a real chill and heartwarming series

The first 3 episodes felt really off. It looks like the original, the soundtrack is similar, but is it the continuation we waited for? It felt like a totally different writing style, and the jokes too! It didn’t feel right. Bland, empty. Like someone took the skin of the characters, and tried to direct a half-assed fanfic.
The “special” (the sea-men, remember?) had negative value. I almost dropped the series because of it. Nothing, but empty “haha, pop-culture reference” “jokes”, just like when the parody movie genre died. The F&F with the little white swimmers made zero sense, and it was dumb. Haha, isekai! Haha, now the protagonist is a vending machine!
This was really fun for one season, but that’s it. Fun’s over. Practically everything was achieved in season 1, what can be achieved. It could have been a nice, dense, fun, and memorable one-season miracle, but they decided to continue the “generic fantasy isekai with a twist”. The idea is not that great to fill several seasons. And let me post it, god damn it! It’s a gimmick isekai, can’t expect much from the characters and story! Generic heroes, generic supervillain in a generic world. It feels mass-produced at best. Maybe good for one’s first gimmick isekai. |
