Buccha from Air Gear is a rare Double Subversion. He eats a lot, and appears to be tremendously fat. However, he's only got about 6% body fat; his appearance is due to blood pooling in his stomach from overeating. When he exerts himself, the blood goes to his muscles, and his ridiculously sculpted body is revealed.

It's alright that biology isn't Paru Itagaki's forte, but as illustrated in Beastars, it seems to be her pianississimo:
• There is a plot point that Legosi seems to dislike his grandfather due to the fact he isn't a wolf, and Legosi and his mother are half breed wolves (quarter in Legosi's case rather.) It turns out his grandfather is a komodo dragon. Ignoring the impossibility of a mammal and a reptile having children, Legosi looks like he has only inherited a few reptilian traits from his grandfather: small pupils and immunity to komodo dragon toxins.
• A hippopotamus student is occasionally grouped with the carnivores (due Because Real-Life Hippo are Responsible for killing human beings Or any stigma attached to hostility.) While hippos occasionally scavenge on carcasses and are hyper-aggressive, they are primarily herbivores.
• And it eventually comes out that Legosi's mother developed scales similar to her father later in life that was the contributing factor to her suicide.
• As revealed in Chapter 124, Legosi isn't the only halfbreed in the series with the introduction of another hybrid character called Melon. A serial killing Leopard-Gazelle hybrid, who is forced to hide his heritage.
• This was even hammered home further with the introduction of the hybrid Daycare in Chapter 142.
• This series also gets several other things wrong about biology although some of them may be intentional. For example, it greatly exaggerates the deadliness of Komodo dragon venom. In real life they are not a very venomous species, but the series depicts Gosha has having to be extremely careful not to accidentally poison people and dripping large amounts of venom from his mouth when excited, and when he is especially upset his venom acts like Hollywood Acid. It also gets where they secrete the venom from wrong. In real life Komodo dragons secrete venom from a pair of sacks in their lower jaw, not from the upper jaw like Gosha does.
• In Chapter 154, some of the history of this civilization is revealed. Apparently when the carnivores or "life animals" first encountered the herbivores or "nature animals", some form of magical "survival instinct" triggered causing the carnivores to view the herbivores as objects of protection, rather than potential meals even though the historical account just established that the carnivores would eat each other to survive. It remains to be seen how much of this account is factual versus mythical versus revisionist history but, needless to say, the current story flies in the face of established predator/prey behavior observed in nature.
• Towards the climax of the Melon arc, some traits ascribed to some species cross the line from exaggerated to purely fantastic. Apparently, a few drops of venom from a strong komodo dragon is enough to melt a huge hole through a building wall in a matter of seconds; they can also bristle their scales like a mammal would bristle their fur. Leopard spots move on their bodies based on their thoughts or emotions. And more.

Apparently, golf skills are hereditary. Eve being able to use Kazuhiko's trademark swing is taken as the ultimate proof that she is Kazuhiko's real daughter by Amuro and Seira. And while a flashback shows that Eve was taught by her father in the past, Aoi and Himekawa also trained under him and are pointedly unable to use it, further reinforcing that Eve can do it because she shares her DNA with him. Not to mention that Aoi was able to instantly master Amuro's golf style, despite it being different from the one she had been using until that point, right before the show reveals Amuro is her real father. Needless to say, genes don't work like that.

Synesthesia is a phenomenon where one kind of stimulus leads to another. Synesthetic people can perceive sounds as colors or feel that numbers have a certain texture or personality. It has absolutely nothing to do with perceiving people's state of mind as colors, which is quite impossible in the real world.
• Actually, seeing auras around people can be a type of synesthesia. It could be caused by the brain interpreting emotional cues as colors (more on the ideiosthesia side of synesthesia) or interpreting pheromones and other variations of scent cues the body gives off depending on the emotions one is experiencing as color. There's also two flavors of synesthesia, projective and associative. One with the first type would see the color around someone while the second type would simply associate the color of their mood with the person.
• Outside of that, Canaan does make repeated mention of "scents", so it could be that she has a smells -> colors variety... and has a nose like a bloodhound.
• Also, synesthesia doesn't work the way it is shown in episode 10! It is a process inside our brains, so if some device (see below) does cancel out all noise, it won't reach the synesthesiac person's ears, ergo, there is no way it can be converted into any other sense and do any damage, if it's Hakko's voice.
• The explanation for all of this lies in the fact that Canaan's synesthesia is ultimately born from the Ua virus. Considering the other "Borners", there is no real reason why it would have to follow the same rules.
• Active noise control, which cancels out all sounds, is a realistic notion, except that to cancel sounds in the entire facility, as shown in episode 10, it'd have to consist of thousand of sound detectors and hundreds of anti-noise generators scattered all over the place. And a huge mainframe to process the noise data in real time.

Losing an eye because you accidentally ricocheted a small, round-edged, plastic-looking object into it at arm range would be extremely improbable in real life. Human blinking reflex is faster than that and there wouldn't be a terrible kinetic energy involved, so the stunt would have probably ended in just an ugly black eye and/or a cut, maybe with superficial cornea damage, certainly not a burst eyeball. Possibly in-universe too if we interpret that Lui's wound wasn't actually that serious and Ukkomon mistakenly thought so because he understands human nature so bad. The scene even shows the Digivice falling to the ground after presumably rebounding off Lui's eye, further implying the damage couldn't have been deep or else it would have gotten stuck.

Doraemon: A major plot point involves Sewashi changing the past by sending Doraemon back to the 20th century to improve Nobita's future, resulting in his great-great-grandmother being changed from Jaiko to Shizuka. He demonstrates that no matter who Nobita will marry, he will always be born which is not possible due to 1/16th of his genes being different, thus, he will cease to exist. The fact that this doesn't occur in any of the mangas or adaptations so far suggests that there is something that Sewashi didn't tell or either the authors just didn't think about this.

• Ruri's disease, from which she's suffered for most of her life, is eventually diagnosed as pneumonia caused by the bacteria pneumococcus. But bacterial pneumonia isn't a chronic illness, meaning that it should have gone away on its own long ago if Ruri managed to survive for this long.
• The population of the village descended from six astronauts, three males and three females. However, three of each sex is not enough diversity to build a population. In the absolute best scenario, you could have no inbreeding for four generations, after which genetic disorders and deformities will slowly kill subsequent generations.
• Foxtail Millet does not contain any gluten proteins. This makes it nigh impossible to make it into noodles like Senku does without using another grain (like wheat flour) as binder to provide the missing gluten. The resulting noodles would not be green as depicted, and would taste very different from regular ramen noodles to Senku and Gen. Of course, this is addressed - both Senku and Gen consider the product pretty awful and crumbly. There's a guy who made them for real, and they were pretty similar to what's shown in the anime.

Large dog breeds like Akita Inu (Gin), Tosa Inu (Musashi) and Great Danes (Ben) have an average lifespan of maximum 10-12 years (6 to 8 years in Ben's case). In the manga, the Time Skip since Nagareboshi Gin is 10 years, making it plausible for them all to still be alive (save Ben). The anime however, changes the time skip to 14 years instead, certainly pushing the boundaries, especially when wild dogs in general have a shorter lifespan than pet dogs do.
• This is especially noticeable with Ken who were born in Nagareboshi Gin and is still portrayed as roughly a young dog, in Real-Life Great Dane Saluki Hybrids in their Adult Forms They have totally different bumps when you're no longer young.
• in the Original GNBG There is no way that reddish brown Riki and Fuji would get a brindle (tigerstriped, torage) puppy together due brindle colour being dominant, meaning that at least the other parent has to be one to get the colour passed down.

Human-to-animal transplants are apparently flawless, too, as seen when Itachi transplants one of Shisui's eyes into a crow, with the crow being able to use the eye without issue for over a decade. The one time that eye surgery is portrayed somewhat realistically, requiring a lengthy recovery period, it is used to temporarily write a character (Sasuke) out of the plot.
• The cells of Hashirama Senju can apparently just be implanted willy-nilly into anyone for various effects. Madara Uchiha discovered their power when, for some reason, he used pieces of Hashirama's flesh to patch his wounds. Worse, he'd bitten off and swallowed flesh, only to spit it out hours later, when it should have been dissolved by his stomach acid.
• The same thing happens with Orochimaru. Late in the story Kabuto injects Orochimaru's blood into his body and it gradually infests his body like a cancer while also giving him Orochimaru's abilities. He also does the same with the Sound Four abilities. While not too ridiculous for the ones with implied or explicit bloodline abilities, it also works for those like Tayuya who just use ordinary jutsu.
Plenty of characters suffer significant burn injuries, but only to their skin and body. Their hair and clothing (usually) remain intact.
In the sequel, Sarada can use her sharingan as a microscope to see viruses. Regardless of magnification, such a feat is impossible with visible light as viruses are just too small. Such a feat would require special dyes, ultraviolet light, or an electron microscope.
• Organ transplants tend to work a bit like LEGO with anyone being able to put pieces of other people onto themselves with minimal effort. Eyes are repeatedly removed and given to other people. In one case, a character (Madara) manages to pluck out another character (Kakakshi)'s eye by apparently just grabbing it with their bare hands when running past them during a heated battle. The virus looks like its made of yarn and is ball shaped. (Yet, doesn't look like a typical ball of yarn). It's also apparently able to penetrate the epidermis (since merely being touched by a cat on bare skin is enough to infect people) and instantaneously becomes symptomatic.

Unless Anna's father was also Caucasian, it's almost impossible for Anna to have blue eyes.
• Marnie's features are even more unlikely. Her father is a blond, blue-eyed "foreigner" of some kind but her mother appears to be a standard Japanese beauty (black hair and dark eyes.) Needless to say, the odds that their child would be a blond, blue-eyed girl are... remote.

The short scene showing a Spearow's point of view reveals it sees in black and white (as it did back in the first episode). Birds in Real Life are known to have good color vision, and they can distinguish colors better than people can. Though it can be excused on the account of Spearow not being a real-life bird and being a Pokemon so its vision might work differently.

Modern banana cultivars do not have seeds and consequently can't be grown from them as Lucius is able to do with the banana he brings back to Rome from Japan. To cultivate a new banana plant, you need an offshoot from an old banana plant. This is besides the fact that bananas are not native to Egypt (where Hadrianus first tastes one), which is far from their native tropical climate.

throws around figures in the millions, billions, and even trillions quite freely. On the low end of this scale is Toriko himself, who is said early in the series to burn 100,000 kilocalories a day, something that would give a normal man heatstroke. There's also a technique, Monkey Martial Arts (or Enbu), that's dedicated to consciously controlling the independent wills of the 60 trillion cells in a person's body. At one point, the four main characters declare their combined might of 240 trillion cells.

Hige, Toboe, and most of the minor character wolves are more brown then any real wolf, and every wolf that has markings is over simplified—although realistic ones would be hard to animate. The only visually realistically wolves are the pure white Kiba and pure black Blue. The pure black Darcia would count too, if not for his eyes being different colors.
