When I heard this single performed live in Reykjavik in July, I knew that Nexion was onto something special and that their follow-up to Seven Oracles would be huge. Things are very much looking to be on track for a grand return in 2025 for these gents! And I agree, Yoma, that buying singles even when you know the full album is not far behind is the right thing to do when the singles are this good!

about
Nexion´s new single ´Gandr´is out Now
“Gandr” is an ancient form of Nordic Black Magic, used to summon nameless spirits to torment and destroy one’s enemies.
lyrics
I practice Witchcraft!
I howl over the Naked Dead!
I Reached below the rotten roots
And ripped a thorn of torment loose
No sun it ever sees
Nor steel it ever feels
I cast a curse of seven dreads
And carved a thurs with seven heads.
With Spite and Blood Smeared
With Spite and Spit Steered
I call the One who Wails
I call the One who Walks
Gal anda með gǫngla með
I call the One who Rides
I call the One who Runs
Riðanda með með rinnanda
I call the One who Sits
I call the One who Sinks
Með sitjanda með signanda
I call the One who Fares
I call the One who Flies
Með faranda með fljúganda
And thou shalt fail and die
Crushed beneath hopeless grief
And torment that tears the mind
I breath wolves
Gal anda með gǫngla með
Ríðanda með með rinnanda
Með sitjanda með signanda
Með faranda með fljúganda
Skal alt fyrna ok um deyja
Rent by thorns
And the teeth of thurs
I breath the breath of wolves
I ganda and call upon the nameless powers
The ones who once were carved
And hidden with a corpse
I ganda
Mind Ripped from mind
Spirit from spirit ripped
Flesh ripped from flesh
May self sunder self
Gal anda með gǫngla með
Ríðanda með með rinnanda
Með sitjanda með signanda
Með faranda með fljúganda
Blackbraid is a spiritual force in the black metal scene, bringing a unique perspective and culture that was missing until the release of this album. 'Barefoot Ghost Dance on Bloodsoaked Soil' is immensely powerful, showing me that black metal is as strong as ever. 'The River of Time Flows Through Me' is excellent as well, with a crushing melody and unforgettable song title. Hail Sgah'gahsowáh, the new blood of black metal. Obsidian One
"Ce n'est pas le voyage qui compte mais la destination" est une locution proverbiale qu'on entend de la bouche de tous les nomades : ce n'est pas la pochette de Beyond The Palest Star qui le démentira puisqu'Adam Burke reprend la technique du point de fuite, dirigeant notre regard non pas vers une station spatiale mais vers un trou noir — situé sur la gauche. Vorga confirme ce chemin de pensée dans son deuxième album avec un death metal cosmique sinistre, infusé d'énergie doomesque. Colossal ! Nocturnal Egg (Jordan)
'Exuvia' is what I'd call "ritualistic black metal." I never cared much for the rest of the album, but this first track — especially from 3:12 to 8:00 — is such a trip. I can't even count how many times I've listened to that passage, but it never gets old. Immense and powerful beyond words. Their earlier album, Blood Vaults, also has an incredible opening, but 'Exuvia' is on another level. Avant-garde, with a dark, spiritual energy, The Ruins of Beverast is different. Obsidian One
