Online store: Two and a half weeks and still waiting
I ordered a vacuum cleaner from the online store (for collection from store) 2.5 weeks ago and I am still waiting. The initial email told me I would get an email 7 working days after the order was placed (which I already thought was a long time to wait) with collection instructions. When I didn't hear from them I emailed then. Two days no response. So I called them. "It's in Chch waiting devanning". Waited three more days. Called them. Still awaiting devanning. The thing is, I can see the store I am collecting from has stock. I went into that store to see if they could just give me one from stock and was told no. This has been such a terrible customer service experience and I really didn't expect that from an ironic kiwi brand like Farmers. I will never ever order from Farmers online store again.

Very disappointed standing at the counter for 15 minutes . Yes they seemed ho be busy but some of the staff just chatted to each other while I just stood there....waiting.
Then when I got a staff member I told him I had been waiting 10 minutes while they just chatted some had customers some seemed not to.
Wake up and serve your customers or at least acknowledge them ...hell it only takes a second to do that just so they know your there. Your CEO needs to walk in and rev the staff up to say the least. NEED TO Remember the customer pays your wages.
Farmers Palmerston North - Bad Service!
Farmers Palmerston North, lingerie department. In fact they don't even deserve one star! So poor! Will not go back there, rude service while trying on bras, some bras were so dirty as they were literally lying on the floor as rack was so low to ground! I had asked for salesperson to order me one in my size, she took my details and said yes she will get one in for me. Never heard back!! So I then ordered one online instead as these were on sale (not the original one I wanted) then had problems with the delay in delivery! Really bad. I went online to the Farmers website and after sale had finished the bra I had wanted, magically had come back into stock! Full price of course! Bad service all round. A pity as the products are actually good, just not them.

I purchased a top boxing day Hastings. Went to return the next day (thats today). Was told I couldnt refund it, store policy, but I could have a store credit. I didnt want a store credit. So went off in search of another top to exchange with the one i bought. There really is very little choice in tops. All much the same style but in different colours. But after 20mins i settled on a top. Took it to the counter in men's wear and as I handed him the top i said "ill exchange this top for this" as I handed him the farmers bag with the already purchased top in it..instead of doing an exchange process I ended up with another purchase. So, to rectify their mistake they offered me a store credit. I explained again I didnt want a store credit, but would like my money back into my account that they took. What a rigmarole. A manager had to be called who again said its store policy to give a store credit, what! Its your mistake, so again said I dont want a store credit. It was their mistake, I want my money back and put into my account. Eventually the manager (Cherrie or Shari) did it, but she wasnt happy about it. No apology, no smile....nothing.
For goodness sakes. Its no wonder I hate that company. Their "store policies" is just an excuse to keep your money.

Doesn't honour delivery times nor communicates delays
Ordered a Samsung Fridge (SRS6200S) on 26/11/2025 with a delivery date for 03/12/2025.
Worked from home that day to allow delivery to be dropped off, upon nearing 5pm, I called in to see if there was any delays (understanding it was Black Friday). Was then informed that the fridge would be coming only next year due to stock issues, 18/02/2026, close to 3 months from now. I explained that we didn't have a fridge and asked if there was any way to honour the delivery time we have on our invoice, the lady was helpful in trying her best to get it sent for the next week, even with a Mainfreight number with delivery for next week.
Fast forward to next week, called up this morning to check just in case to see the status and once again I'm told, delivery is for the 18/02/2026 due to stock issues. This was getting tiresome and we need a fridge, so I requested a refund. What's then even more frustrating is going back online and discovering, not only is Farmers still selling this same model, but exclaims it's in stock, in multiple locations around Auckland. I've even said to them, I'm happy with a floor model, I just want what we paid for.
This isn't the first time I've had a very frustrating experience with Farmers group, took me 4 months to receive a refund from Stevens for a set of knives a few years back, I would never end up receiving said knives during the online order, only having my money taken, no product (at least this group is consistent?). Now I only worry it's going to take another 4 months to get a refund for this fridge, which was considerably more money.
Do not buy from their online platform - I recommend renting a moving truck, going to Farmers itself, buying what you're after and then wheeling the damn the fridge into the truck yourself to take home. At least this way you actually get what you pay for.
Christmas Trees are absolutely rubbish and stop working
Christmas, and time for loving and giving!!!! NOT at Farmers. DONT buy there Christmas trees!!!!! Our plug stopped working after a week of using and theres no warranty or consideration from them at all.
FARMER’S - Absolutely worse customer service
Absolutely worse customer service. Which is why I cancelled account.
Cancelled my account 11/11/2025, ask for final balance, say it will be emailed in 1-2 days. Get 4 days later on the 15/11/2025 and pay immediately. (Statement is time stamped 13/11/2025).
Two weeks later (27/11/2025), get an email saying can’t close because of out standing balance.
I had a Farrmers insurance policy, I was told today -
‘Oh you have to cancel with insurer’ - wait I signed on 15 years ago with Farmers. No one mentioned this two weeks ago … I don’t even know who the insurer is.
Their CSR response oh well not our problem. Ask to speak to a supervisor - ‘Jayson’ says no point. I say I want to. She says no. I say are you refusing me to speak to a supervisor, she says no.
Cancelled policy with insurer - who is a completely different insurer to the original. Never signed a new policy at all?
Now Farmers said they couldn’t cancel payments because of the insurer. Insurer says they cannot cancel payments because Farmers …. Meanwhile my AAA+ credit rating goes to ‘the dogs’ because of Farmers USELESS SERVICE - APATHETIC TO THE POINT OF BELLIGERENT.
I will never use Farmers again ever. I will tell everyone I know the same. I look forward to watching the eventual demise of this dinosaur company and its absolutely useless customer service.
Order online folks … because abysmal companies like this do not deserve a penny of your money.

For starters her customer service, attentiveness and all round personal assistance was so natural and genuine.
Sadly the product I purchased was faulty after first wash having changed colour from a rich ivory to a dirty white when washed with whites on cool 15 min cycle. She'd never come across this before and was so empathetic and helpful escalating to two managers to get a resolve for me.
I've not returned anything in over 30 years with Farmers and she made a potentially daunting request so easy.
I can't rate her more highly - a real credit to Farmers and some!

Totally pissed off that I found the exact identical item of perfume at chemist warehouse for 49.99 that was listed at Farmers which I paid for was $102.99fr what a fricking rip-off I don't mind paying an extra 10 or 15 dollars over what chemist warehouse prices are but over 50% marker that's just a fricking robbery I will never ever buy anything from Farmers again

Visited farmers Whakatane, got a some items of clothing. Then headed off to buy a bottle of perfume.
2 ladies behind counter chatting behind counter. Then one asks if I need help as I am smelling some of the perfumes on display. She then say's I will take the bottle of perfume, so you do not walk out of store with it by accident. Then she takes it out of my hand. I am over 50 and I am not going to run out with it. Ladies keep chatting about what she wants to get her partner to buy for her, with her fellow sales assistant. I went and paid for other items but went out without anything from the perfume department. Not a pleasant experience.
