We recently worked with Scott and his priest Ernest to deliver a beautiful memorial service for my late sister.

As the family had ordered an examination by the coroner, it delayed the funeral preparations and created uncertainty around when the Coroner's office would be done and ready to release her body. Scott was incredibly helpful around expediting the process with them and gave some handy insider tips on getting the forensics staff to hurry up. This was utterly important as timing was tricky due to a double long weekend, coroner's office not wanting to guarantee when they'd be done, lining up an auspicious date for the funeral, chapel availability, funeral director & staff availability and decomposition of the body if left too long might mean no open casket viewing, which the family wanted, to bade their last farewell.

Scott the director of Funera, helped us navigate all this with his experience, was super responsive via call and text, even late at night and early morning (he's a workaholic it seems).

We had guests who spoke only chinese or only English. It was very handy to have the service run with both languages by Ernest who acted as the celebrant - being a christian priest, he was able to deliver a blessing and small scripture reading to honour my late sister who was also a christian. I liked that he wasn't too preachy. We made the extra effort of printing translated transcripts of speeches to hand out to guests which helped too.

On the day, everything ran smoothly. Guests commented on how well the funeral service was run. Prior to selecting Funera, I made many calls to celebrants and funeral directors. What sets Scott and Funera apart are their package, pricing and transparency. No high pressure sales tactics, no tricky hidden fees and the agreement is available for review and online signature on their website so you have plenty of time to read and review the terms before signing. Payment can be made digitally and almost the whole funeral coordination process can be done over the phone, email and online. The only 2 exceptions being scanning of physical photos for the slideshow and preparing an outfit for the deceased for Scott's team, in advance of the funeral. A tip for finding music to suit the slideshow - any youtube song you like, remove the 'ube' from the URL of the video and it'll redirect you to the 'yout' download link for that song. Once downloaded, you can upload and trim to suit the slideshow length. I cross faded 2 songs as one wasn't long enough.

I huge plus with Funera is the ability to coordinate it all via phone, email and online. If photos are already on cloud or hard drive storage and the outfit can be ordered from an online shop to be delivered to Funera, then technically, there is no need to meet the team in person until the day of the Funeral.

Something else Funera does which was part of why we chose them is a graphic design service where they can crop and enhance a photo provided by the family into a professional looking portrait for use as SMS invites and at the funeral as decorative memoir cards, also tastefully displayed on chapel LCD screens where the design is chosen via the website by the family and included in the package.

Scott also helped coordinate roses for the flower tribute at a really afforable price, less than what a couple of local florists I called, could supply it for. On the day of the service, he and his team paid very good attention to detail with the showing of the coffin lace, pastel floral placement on/around the white coffin and overall presentation. It was light and elegant. My sister would have loved it if she were watching.

Would definitely recommend Funera and use them again in future. Also, I didn't receive any incentives to write this.

When you have a loved one pass away, the last thing you don’t want to worry about is organising the funeral. Scott was very patient with my family and explained step by step with what to do. When we reached out to Scott, it was during the public holidays and it took time to sort out paperworks etc.
Scott kept us informed and promptly replied in writing and followed up with phone calls to ensure we were on the right track.

Scott made the whole daunting process super easy. Being in my 70s uploading, downloading, etc is not my strong point but he patiently assisted me through every step. The entire process was made so relaxed by Scott and his company that I rate them PERFECTION+

We knew my father was at end of life and we had almost two months to decide on the funeral arrangements that we wanted.

From the time that I first spoke to Scott, he was sympathetic, understanding of our needs and easy to get on with.

Scott provided much information and more options than most people would want to deal with should their loss be unexpected. He made a lasting first impression.

When the final arrangements were being made, nothing was too much trouble and Scott was accommodating to changes and arranged them without any issues.

After working on the photos and cards and then making minor changes, the framed photo and cards were beautiful and a memento to be cherished.

At the funeral service, Scott brought an addition staff member to be in attendance, which at first was unexpected, so our special requests could be fulfilled.

While it might be 'just another day at the office' for the pall bearers, they too were warm and friendly, making us all feel at ease.

Scott and the staff arranged a beautiful funeral for my father, that was beyond expectations and one that will be remembered.

Scott and his team were wonderful in organising the service. Everything needed for the service was in house, which made it extremely easy for us to organise. The venue itself was beautiful, and the service was lovely, thanks to the dedication that the team had to make the day special for everyone. They were able to make the service run very smoothly, and all of the extras that were offered made the day beautiful (e.g floral tribute, slideshow, condolence book). Any help I needed with the organisation was provide whenever I needed, which was so helpful in this hard time.

I can’t praise Funera highly enough. They took the stress out of what is a difficult and emotional time. They were always on top of things, keeping me updated and always getting back to me as promised every single time. Scott was amazing, personable and someone who I trusted completely to take care of my loved one. Funera really is a lovely company to deal with and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
