Migrating a Joomla website to a new WordPress one
Contra to what the Sex Pistols sung in Anarchy in the UK, I do know what I want - but I don’t know how to get it. This is where Iconicdeign comes in. The first draft was heart sinkingly disappointing. I had given pages of example and links to my vision and the first offering did not meet those desires, the only one who was more disappointed than me was the developer, and so followed a 1 ½ hour zoom chat.
There was as much work needed on my part of the site as his. There were repeated screenshots, requests, tweaks, niggles, and no doubt to his fury ‘can you just’ additions. But I'm told (not by him) that website developers are used to this. If he were to review me it would probably start with the heading ‘…is a pain in the a….’ but as I said I did know what I wanted and, in the end, I got it, and more. I LOVE MY NEW WEBSITE, there will be additions and changes in the future and I will definitely be employing Iconicdeign to do the work if he’ll work with me again. He turned out to be attentive, helpful, and of course skilled and efficient in crafting a website. The new one bears little resemblance to the one it replaced; it is better on every level. The hours he must have put in, getting the shop to work for overseas postage costs, and on some of the graphics is insurmountable. I am ecstatically happy with the end result and I wholeheartedly recommend and more importantly trust him. After all, passwords are given, at one point, I even gave him access to my computer so he could do what he needed to, most disconcerting but done with professionalism and integrity. Thank you so much.
