Harsh Cancellation Fees
I booked a holiday in March 2025 for Sant'Angelo Village for a weeks holiday in August 2025. 5 days after booking the holiday, I had to cancel trip. I am now being charged over £300 as a cancellation fee. I could understand this if I canceled the holiday a month or more later on, but to charge a cancellation fee after 5 days seems really harsh. There should at least be a short window to allow for this, rather than issuing a cancellation fee from the moment the booking is made.
Do not book here unless you are certain you will be taking the trip with Roan.

You get it what you pay for with Roan. The communication is excellent, before you get there & also onsite. It was obvious that the Roan pitches & actual mobiles were better than the competitors on our campsite. We were welcomed at a separate reception & given a greater level of service. Highly recommend

We received THE BEST customer service from Steven & Dee at Bella Italia, Lake Garda. They really made our holiday super special and provided a 1st class, professional and friendly service throughout our stay from arrival to the moment we left. It made our excellent holiday even more special. Bella Italia, Lake Garda is a fantastic site, very close to the lake, beautiful views and just a 15 min stroll to Peschiera Del Garda for buses, trains, shops and restaurants. We would recommend Roan and will use for future holidays! Thank you!
The unit was very clean
The unit was very clean. All beds were made up perfectly and the staff went by to double check that we have enough towels. Welcome pack was very welcoming. Roan, you just obtained another customer.

Booked clarys plaige in France with them. Got an email a few months beforehand saying they no longer had the accommodation available on site but would give us an upgrade at no extra charge. However the upgrade had no Televisión or outdoor lounge area. Upon complaining they did refund me a small percentage. But they ensured us it was a brand new mobile. However we were extremely disappointed upon arrival. It was tiny and no where near the standard we expected for the money we paid. We could have booked an. Equivalent mobile with a different company for far cheaper. When I complained all they said they could do was move us to a 4 star campsite at no extra cost. Which was nice since we booked a 5 star campsite. We met numerous people on site, all of which had similar experiences with roan, either changing their booking or cancelling it altogether. Would advise not booking through roan and book with the campsite directly.

Dansk bilferie is refering to, that you have rejected out complain, and wont give us contact info to you.
Have booked a tent at camping lanterna in Croatia for the summer - just like we have done before. This time, however, we are the unlucky guests who are assigned the only campingarea without any kind of shade/shadow.
On the very first day, we contact Roan on the site, as the tent is unbearable to stay in. We have temperatures that means we cannot charge our phones inside the tent, they stop with the text overheating, and several things we need to be arranged in the refrigerator due to the extreme heat. Roan cant do anything mit refers us contact Dansk Bilferie, through which we have booked the holiday, which we do. They have nothing to move us in, but say we should wait to complain until we are home from the holiday.
We get 2 fans/windblower in addition to the one we have, but no extension cord, so we have to buy that ourselves. They wrap our terrace in sheets and logo flags, which is by no means the solution, as it closes off all air and view, so it becomes hotter than it already is.
My husband ends up driving out himself and finding something to use ad a sunsail and string, so we can try to make sun sails ourselves and make just a little shade. Material we again pay for ourselves. All the other tents of the same type as ours do not have the same problems with overheating as they are in the shade, and they can enjoy their holiday in a tent and on the terrace while we have to sit in their shared parking lot to get just a little shade. We pay DKK 14,000 for a tent for 9 days, which is useless in the period 12-20. And at the same time, we ourselves have to spend time and money trying to find a solution. The only 2 evenings when we have rain, we have to accept that it rains into the tent, as the plastic "things" that cover the windows are broken. When we inform them from roan at check-out she says, it is not done, I informed about that 1 month ago. When we get home we send a complaint, as recommended, with plenty of photo documentation to Dansk bilferie they will contact Roan their business partner. Roan does not think this is grounds for compensation. danish bilferie offers us DKK 700 which we can spend on another holiday. this is under all criticism compared to the price of the holiday and the incredibly poor conditions we have had to accept. We have booked through roan several times, and we have NEVER experienced anything similar. So for those of you who might read this and are considering a tent at Camping Lanterna, make sure that you are NOT allocated space G106. Since we are not satisfied with their answer, we are denied contact information directly to roan of Dansk bilferie.
Pbut we are welcome to get an impartial assessment and complain to the appeals board, which you also have to pay to do. I think we have had a lot of expenses for the holiday, which was in no way what we had hoped for when we booked it.

Wow! We have just finished our holiday to Ty Nadan in France and have had a wonderful time. Marja and John from Roan were the most amazing reps. They were so friendly and welcoming, gave us some fantastic advice on places to visit and activities to keep our children entertained. The cabin had everything we needed and was very clean. We saw the reps most days which was lovely as we have previously stayed with other companies and the reps have been no where to be seen. Roan you have a couple of gems in Marja and John!

Her response was yes but you are not while pointing her finger in my face.
Disgusting behaviour and zero understanding for those with a Disabled child.And after several emails to Roan,
They were poor at responding and they even cancelled my holiday for next year after paying my deposit. Not to the same camp site as I’d never chance being near her again. She almost ruined my holiday,

Avoid. Grown too fast
Went two years with Roan. We had issues on site and no one replied. When we complained they offered nothing to say sorry for the loss of my wife's jewellery (that we asked for help to locate when on site)

Camping D'Hop
On arrival at the campsite, a large part of the campsite was undergoing renovations. It looked really bad on arrival as it looked like that all the mobile homes were all dislocated from the ground. There was no reference on the website that the campsite would be undergoing works.
The swimming pool was closed for the bulk of the time due to private swimming lessons which meant that people staying at the campsite had to go at a specific time.
The bar / restaurant was closed for two days during the week we stayed. The staff said that this was normal but for people staying at the campsite, what if we wanted to have a drink or a meal? Very restrictive for guests.
There is no shop or provisions for small things ie milk to buy at the campsite. Please consider this especially when the restaurant is closed.
There is clearly a lack of facilities available at the campsite. This does not merit a 4 star. When the pool is closed, the restaurant is closed, there is nothing to do there.
Contacting staff via What's App was poor. No response for a day or so. What if there was an emergency? The reception was closed half of the time. The campsite was very poorly run.
There is a need for better information on the website on what is available during the low season at Camping D'Hop so that people can make informed choice on whether to come.

Terrible service
Terrible service. Holiday to Lake Garda booked in August 2022 for June 2023. Confirmation received and deposit paid. Advised by generic email in January 2023 that they could not accommodate my family due to a change in accommodation types. Repeated emails but no effort by RoanCamping to offer redress or find alternative accommodation for my family holiday. Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH THEM!
