Terrible in bereavement
Inflexible and unwilling to help change dates or refund in the event of a bereavement. Shockingly bad. Expect no attempts at being helpful from this company. 30 minutes to speak to someone who then can't help. They ignore all email attempts of contact. Definitely AVOID!

Booked twice for Tunisia. Always checked with hotel and booking was made. Good thing you can change your booking and only have to pay little fee £20. Most deals are quite reasonable.

It took us 2 hours to check-in the hotel after writing to multiple customer service assistants until they received the hotel confirmation number via their suppliers. They send you no documents no confirmation messages no receipts in PDF format. As it was a very stressful experience, I have no intention to book a hotel with this website again.

Unfortunately my hotel was not booked when I arrived they had to find me another room in another hotel and all the people that I wanted to stay with I wasn’t able to stay with them. We had to dig through receipts to get me booked.

1 star – Absolutely unacceptable customer service

I have never experienced such a complete failure of customer support as with Stayforlong.
We contacted them multiple times, well over ten emails, regarding an urgent and highly sensitive medical situation that required a minor date adjustment. Not a cancellation. Not a refund. Just clarity and formal confirmation of a modification that the hotel itself was willing to approve.
We received not a single human response.
- No acknowledgement.
- No “we are reviewing your case.”
Nothing.
Meanwhile, we were dealing with a terminally ill friend in Bangkok and a second emergency surgery that forced us to reconsider our travel dates. Time-sensitive decisions about flights and accommodation had to be made. Stayforlong’s silence actively made the situation worse.
Even after the hotel explicitly confirmed that they had approved a modification and were simply waiting for Stayforlong to formalise it, the company remained completely unresponsive.
A booking platform is only as good as its support when something goes wrong. In our case, Stayforlong was muted, despite sending auto-replies saying they will review the emails, while support was needed most.
If everything goes perfectly, perhaps you’ll never notice. But if you need help, flexibility, or even basic communication, you are on your own.
I would strongly advise booking directly with hotels instead of using Stayforlong. When it mattered, they failed entirely.
Everything that could go wrong did need a holiday to get over the disaster
Looks can be deceiving checking was great this was our pre honeymoon and we spend a hour apart each day due to the safe breaking every day my partner ended up with diarrhoea due to food change and the room key kept letting us down and he had 2 accidents due to this it was kept away from phone and was so embarrassing bar outsode room was serving n selling drinks at 11 oclock at night to underage kids and also pocketing the money the noise was loud, 4pm one evening we laid down and they started banging it was so loud we ended up getting up we understand repairs need doing but plz at leaat warm people we begged to be moved each day due to all the problems then we went to the specialiality Asian restaurant set menu was limited my partner had chicken and sweetcorn soup it tasted of soap then I only has a option of chicken noodles on main dish was told could have fried fish but not sure of oil so I also had option of beef so I choice beef when I tasted it it had peanuts in did nt say on menu as wasnt on menu also find a hair in my food I though oh may have been mine next mouthful had a hair wrapped around the beef I unravelled it out my mouth the rice come in a white dish with 9 dirty black chips around the dish the manager who didnt help us day before was eating in a separate part of the restaurant bet his food was nice we told him they took rice and changed it but we got up and left after the 2nd hair we had to go to soho square to eat a take away pizza as we was starving , the next day the amazing chef in the beach side restaurant asked us if we was ok as we was so down after another day without each other due to the safe I broke down in tears he set up a meeting with the main boss who met up and finally moved up after 5 crap days of out holiday they finally moved us for 2 days of our holiday and we was promised a meal in the cala restaurant anything we wanted was booked next evening to get dressed up and got there to be told we could have set menu only and no one was on hand to sort so we went to restaurant the young lady who had helped up fatama could noy get hold of Mrs MYRA as night off so we went to the mountain side reception no help again so it was all lies again we went out to savoy soho House n spent more money but came back and was sick with all the stress to be honest if it wasnt for the chief the young lad and fatama in restaurant our pre honey moon break was crap spoiled and so shattered from it all, Micheal the cleaner was amazing, the second room was lovely but 2 days after all crap wasnt enough time I struggle with fibromyalgia and been in bed for a week when I got home due to all the stress of ot all we did email stayforlong 5 days in to our holiday for help but guess what still waiting on a reply the place is lovely but our experience was not and I feel totally unnecessary stressed out by managers that didnt care once your money is paid we ain't moaning people but we felt thats all we did as everything was ignored for so long

Paid more than EUR200 in "taxes and fees" at time of booking, only to be told after the payment was taken that there would be "additional taxes and fees" paid at the hotel. So the price you pay on Stayforlong is not representative of the overall cost. I would have booked directly with the hotel had I known this. Interactions with customer service very patchy, with different responses from different agents advising completely opposing views. Would avoid this website in future.

The hotel that was booked did not exist
The hotel that was booked was not open/was under construction and Stayforlong neglected to let us know that the hotel had cancelled the reservation until after the check in time. They at first offered an alternative but then never followed up with additional information and I had to book a another hotel last minute out of pocket. They entirely ghosted me at this point, no explanation or refund.

Absolutely shocking - Stay for long
Absolutely shocking, I have made one booking for 2 hotel rooms for my family at the same hotel, they have confirmed one room but cancelled the other room, they have refunded me the deposit for the one the have cancelled because it’s not available. I have sent several E Mails which have all been ignored, why would they think that this is acceptable. It is clear I need 2 x rooms and having 1 x room is absolutely no use whatsoever. Clearly I need to cancel the other one and they need to refund my deposit but they are just totally ignoring me. Absolutely shocking customer service, I should have stuck with the booking.com
