Sync is very intuitive and easy to use. I love having peace of mind that all of my data is safe in a secure location and I don't have to worry about anything happening to my local copies. I use it for family photo and video backups as well as personal and client work related content.
Useless, especially for Mac users with large files
I used this company for years until I had to switch to a new computer that didn't have as much hard drive space. Then the nightmare began. The desktop version does not allow you to download specific files, and the cloud version for Mac is plagued by bugs. I had over 30 communications with support over a 3-month period and spent at least a hundred hours slowly trying to download photoshop files. My subscription is finally ending and I still have not been able to retrieve all of my files. I refuse to pay another $90 this useless service.
Sync.com is broke, and they're hiding it.
6th year using paid service. It used to work, but has been slowly breaking down last 18 months. Team syncing is so bad now, it's unusable for business use. Support is a joke. It's a ticket only system, and it takes days for a first reply, and days between the back and forth. They reply with one sentence, useless comments. If you have a serious issue, and you will, you are ALONE. Switched to Tresorit.

Misleading Trial Experience, No Integrations, No Flexibility
I signed up for Sync.com expecting a competitive alternative to Dropbox or Box. What I got was an outdated product with modern pricing and zero flexibility.
There are no native integrations with the tools businesses actually use today. No CRM integrations, no automation support, no meaningful ecosystem. Yet pricing is on par with Dropbox, Box, and other platforms that actually invest in integrations and workflows.
The bigger issue is billing ethics. I was charged one day after the trial ended, immediately reached out, and was told a refund was not possible. No grace period. No consideration. Just a hard no.
For a company positioning itself as business-ready, this is a poor look. If you are confident in your product, you should not need to rely on rigid trial cutoffs and refusal to refund a brand-new charge.
If you need integrations, automation, or reasonable customer treatment, look elsewhere.
This service is not supported very well…
This service is not supported very well by live conversation on the phone. It’s incredibly frustrating trying to solve a problem through emails that come three days later. I’m a professional photographer relied on the service to back up my photos, but they keep letting me down, very disappointed for Canadian Company.
Displeased with Service
I have been using Sync for around 7 years on MacOS, Windows 10 and 11, and iOS. The speed is slow and the interface dated, camera photo backup on iOS wasn't great but has become better. Sometimes it would just stop syncing and needed to be restarted. I saw the service was up for renewal again and my credit card was expired (written in red in their admin panel) so I thought I would just let it lapse. They billed the card the day before it would expire, so I reached out to formally cancel on that same day, to which they said no, I had to have done it before. I asked for a refund regardless, they still said no, due to policy. I mentioned they still have a choice and that I would speak to my credit card company to see about cancelling the transaction. Their team then discussed it and decided to provide a one-time only refund. I was quite displeased with the hoop jumping for a mediocre service. A shame, as I liked the idea of supporting a Canadian company.

Sync worked well for several years with only an occasional glitch, but this is a disaster now.
Their Arrogant attitude to support is unacceptable.

No support in 2025
When I encountered problems or wanted to know more about the specifications, I contacted support several times, but never received a response. It seems that there is no governance at all.
The application itself, including the web version, does not have any major issues overall. However, there are fundamental miner issues with the specifications. (Ex: When moving files or folders in the web version, the original files or folders often remain and proliferate within Sync.com. In the Windows app, the synchronization complete/in progress icons do not accurately reflect the actual status. )
Overall, it feels outdated, but since files did not disappear last several years, it might be evaluated for reliability compared to emerging competitors.

Unable to make renewal payment
Unable to make renewal payment. Unhelpful at resolving. Sync issues frequently and software problems. Leading to a full recovery to resolve. Update crashed the system, now unable to resolve. Files held hostage as unable to make payment. After 5 hrs use they are now hopeless. Walked away as a consequence and use Google with perfect success.
WARNING: You may have already lost some data and be unaware
I had need to do a large restore (from a 2TB account) recently so I got to see how reliable restores are. Unfortunately 2 large video files would not restore sucessfully (a bunch of other smaller less relavant files wouldn’t either). What would happen is that the file would download "sucessfully" (using the app or web portal) but be only 2/3 the original size (and note: the original size is correctly reported in the portal) and there was a curious error in the app "further extensions to the request are required" - which didn't bode well). When I tried to play the video files they are unplayable and unfixable (and even if they were playable, 1/3 would have been missing anyway). I would estimate the failure rate in my case to be about 0.1%, so roughly 1 in 1000 files. I contacted support and they apologised but made it clear that my data were lost permanently. The GUI reported no issues on upload many months ago so I was blissfully unaware that the data I thought were safe were actually corrupted. Not good for something that says it keeps my data safe.
I have cancelled my account.
(Another gripe is the absence of a linux app. They said many years ago that it was in developement. Never happened. I can’t help but think this company is going downhill rapidly.)
Sync support sucks - just when you really need it
Sync is great - until something goes wrong, and it will one day.
Then, good luck with support. No chat, no number to call, just a web page and then email.
That might be OK, except... you can write about your sync problem (with mine, "sync can't connect to the network" - the most basic issue possible) until you are blue in the face - do they address it, or actively try and fix it? No.
You will be sent a link to a help page. You can ask time and time again, and for days on end for a solution. Good luck with that.
Save yourself a load of hassle - use P-Cloud
Terrible service
I have purchased 2 12 month accounts after a successful free trial period spent $120 and since then (2 days) the account isn't working the promised paid for iptv application wasn't delivered they try to gaslight that i only purchased for 6 months when i showed them the purchase information.
Since then i asked for a full refund because they can't deliver on what i purchased and now I'm getting ignored.
Terrible costumer service ignoring your customers and not delivering on the agreement then ignoring refund policy.
Account stopped working, no update on serves
I paid for a year subscription. After a month using it, my account stopped working (server down). Contacted SyncTV by WhatsApp, email, and Telegram. On this last one, I had someone saying that only their app worked now and trying to convince me to pay for it. Asked for a refund, no reply after this. It's a scam! Stay away from SyncIPTV
Sync Dishonourable
I had a year with sync and had no problems so I renewed for another year, after going on holiday, bearing in mind it says you can get the service anywhere in the world, this is not true as as soon as I was out of the country there was no service, could get anything. On my return, turning my tv on to catch up with the shows I had missed my date that’s shows my expiry date had gone and I had no iptv from sync, I tried the WhatsApp helpline no answer though they had seen my message asking for the service to be put back on, just ignored me totally. I even used my wife’s phone pretending I was a new customer, wanted my money there, when I asked why they wouldn’t put my service back on they asked for my details which I sent over then nothing, how low can they get, payment is in such a way you have no redress with getting your money back. If you use these providers you risk losing your money and service at any point in time, try and pay monthly or 3 monthly so the money you lose is less painful to your pocket, STAY AWAY FROM SYNC IPTV TOTALLY DISHONOURABLE.

Awful
Signed up for an annual plan and transferred stuff from phone as it was almost half the price. Whenever I tried viewing stuff I uploaded, it took forever to open and videos kept cutting out, were choppy and never ending "re-buffering". Basically couldn't watch videos. Transferred them all back onto phone (thankfully nothing appears corrupted). Website wouldn't even work, had to use app which was a pain to figure out how to transfer everything back. So worth double the price to keep everything on phone!
