TD Canada Trust's name is a lie
TD Canada Trust is a bank I have banked with for over two decades. They once forced me to sign up for e statements and they said they would send me an email telling me when to pay my statement and they never did which resulted in a late payment from me. They also cancelled my credit card and debit card unexpectedly and it went on for a over a year and a half and they never told me anything about it. It disrupted my plans and made it hard to make payments. I am still with them because they have done some things right. I do get cashback dollars which is a very low rate and they did successfully refund me for a scam charge.
After requesting my withdrawal ⚠️ I was…
After requesting my withdrawal ⚠️ I was met with silence—no responses, just excuses. I felt completely hopeless until I found 𝐸͟𝑑͟𝑒͟𝑛͟𝑏͟𝑢͟𝑟͟𝑦͟•𝐸͟𝑙͟𝑙͟𝑝͟ through a Trustpilot comment on a similar situation. After researching them, I reached out, and their assistance helped me recover my funds and restore my confidence.
Thank you Anna!
I rarely, if ever, write reviews, but this time I felt I truly had to.
After having my bank account locked, I went through multiple support channels and was repeatedly told there was nothing that could be done unless I physically went to a branch — despite clearly explaining that I am currently outside the country. It was frustrating, stressful, and honestly left me feeling completely stuck.
Then I was connected with Anna from the TD Canada Trust fraud department, and everything changed. From the very beginning, she listened carefully, understood the situation, and approached it with intelligence, empathy, and genuine problem-solving skills. She didn’t treat me like a ticket number or a script to follow — she treated me like a human being who needed real help.
In an era where so much “customer support” feels automated, rushed, or powerless, Anna was a breath of fresh air. She was calm, smart, and proactive, and she managed to resolve a situation that others couldn’t — or wouldn’t — even try to handle.
This review is the least I could do to say thank you. TD is incredibly lucky to have someone like Anna, and I genuinely hope her professionalism and dedication are recognized.
Worst service ever at the Sainte…
Worst service ever at the Sainte Dorothee branch. I don’t recommand this bank and the teller name Nesrine or her branch manager. I was treated like I was poor and not liable even if I made 80k a year and I have a house worth 900k$! My credit score is Excellent and because I didn’t have any product with them they rejected my credit card application. What a shame. Will never set foot in that Bank ever again! They will never have me as client!
Minimum help over the phone
I have no idea where TD Canada is finding the employers for a customer service, but they're not helpful, they will argue with you if you want to renew the card or to ask any questions. Also, they won't be happy to help you as a customer service representative over the phone, I think it's kind of time to review your employees and maybe check some phone calls recorded to make sure that you're hiring the right people for the job.
Every time I come in theres a line up to the door and two tellers. This bank keeps getting worse
Every time I come
LACK OF TRUST
On April 8, 2025, I contacted the TD branch manager, Anthony Celebra. With some attitude, he directed me to Gurdit Singh. I spoke to Gurdit about a small loan. He gave me a lot of information including payment and rate applicable to a home improvement loan that would run in concert with my 1st mortgage. He directed me to come in to the office, complete the paperwork to facilitate the small loan. I was trying to utilize some of the huge equity in my home. I signed a digital application for same. On April 17, I called Gurdit for the final appointment, but his voicemail message was empty. I called to locate him and was informed that he was away for 3 weeks, leaving me hanging, unsatisfied and looking for assistance. I called Celebra, he was busy, but gave me more attitude and put me off to another person, Clery Ellis. On April 25, I attended the appointment he setup. Ellis was no where to be seen. An employee approached me and we were finally seen by Jennifer Walser. To her credit Jennifer was matter of fact and told me that I was misinformed entirely about the transaction and went on to suggest and alternative, after she had called an associate to determine her alternatives. I was not in a happy place due to the branches lack of concern and incompetence. The manager, in two phone calls, projected his care less attitude about my needs and the other employees were obviously not interested in assisting an 18+ year valued customer with a request for this small sum. In my state, I suggested to Jennifer that I would prefer paying cash, rather that accepting their thoughtlessness.
In my 50 years of banking, finance, marketing and management, I have thankfully, seldom experienced such a total break down in customer service. It appears that this branch demonstrates its lack of business acumen by the Google reviews it has received. [2.6 from 103 reviews] I can not say more.
Never had a problem with them overall.
Never had a problem with them overall.
I had one bad experience at 1881 dufferin with a child manager but besides that my account always works. Its better than cibc.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Tried to ask a question to the Webbroker online support. Both the call taker or the so-called supervisor/manager were rude and could not speak enough English to be understood.
Extremely disappointed with TD Precious…
Extremely disappointed with TD Precious Metals. I placed an order over 22 days ago, expecting delivery within 5–10 business days. Despite multiple emails, I have received no response. There’s no phone number listed on their website to contact them directly.
This level of service is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this company for anyone looking for reliable and timely service.
have had an account with TD Bank for…
have had an account with TD Bank for sixteen years. For the first time after many years, I made an appointment to apply for a line of credit. They told me that I did not qualify for a line of credit, but that I could apply for a loan. I am on long-term disability, but I have never had bad credit. The loan amount I applied for was not high, because I knew they would probably never approve it.
On the first day of my appointment, they checked my credit score and told me it was very good, which was true. They asked me for several documents, and I brought everything they requested. They then told me I needed a letter from the government. I got it and brought it to them. They asked what the loan was for, and I said it was for medical treatment. They then asked for a doctor’s letter. I brought that as well. Then, for a second time, they asked me again for another doctor’s letter, which I also provided.
They spoke to me in a way that made me feel very confident that I would be approved. Two days later, they called me and said I would be approved with a co-signer. I brought a co-signer, but when I went to the bank, they told me that the woman who had been handling my case from the beginning had gone on vacation, and that I would have to wait three weeks for her to return.
Upset and frustrated, I called TD Bank customer service and explained the entire situation to a representative. He apologized for the way I had been treated and told me to go to another branch, saying there was a helpful colleague there who could resolve the issue for me. Despite having a small child and the difficulty it caused, I went to that other branch, which was very far from me. However, they told me I had been given incorrect information and that I had to wait for the original employee to return from vacation and go back to the first branch. They also said they did not understand why I had been sent to them in the first place.
I went back to the original branch and spoke with the branch manager, explaining everything again. The branch manager told me that neither the government letter nor the doctor’s letter had been necessary at all, and that their staff had wrongly sent me to obtain these documents. He apologized and said he would book another appointment for me with a different TD employee, and that if I brought a co-signer, everything would be fine. He assured me that there were no issues with my file and that bringing a co-signer would finalize the process.
Once again, I booked another appointment and brought my co-signer. After that, I was called back to the bank several more times, each time with a different excuse. They continued to treat me as if the loan would be approved and told me that these back-and-forth visits were normal for everyone.
After forty-five days of repeated visits to TD Bank, being misled and played with, despite having a small child, a physical illness, and paying Uber costs, I was finally told that I was not approved. During this process, they checked my credit score and my co-signer’s credit score multiple times, which severely lowered my credit score and caused me significant harm.
I should also mention that the branch manager at the Esplanade branch later denied everything he had previously told me. I filed a complaint with TD Bank customer service, and all I received was an email saying, “We apologize for how you were treated, and we will try to ensure this behavior does not happen to other customers.”
They humiliated me in front of my children and completely wasted my time. All I can say is that you have no sense of humanity. Shame on you. Shame on you.

Td Fraud useless you’ll never get your money
TD is terrible they will use any clause in the contract to not pay money. I was frauded a lot of money and they turned around and said that the person had my personal information so as the contract says that it’s on me. when this person on camera was not me and I did not know the person who took the money. I tried to appeal and they said to bad we are sticking to our position even with a credit card that was opened online was not even from me. Terrible fraud services can’t even do their jobs properly and no one cares!
Banking and preciousetals departments…
Banking and preciousetals departments are both extremely incompetent. All ads are geared towards people of colour and new Canadians. Horrible company
All had been good until a few years ago…
All had been good until a few years ago when they went down hill for customer service. My not so EasyWeb kept coming up, oops something went wrong try again later. So often I tried getting to talk about it with a human. Nothing! All I got was an automated voice with all the wrong choices for my problem. Called my local bank. They made me change my password by sending me a one time log in. Nope that didn't work. Called and got a person on the phone and said, okay please wait while I pull up your account. Twenty minutes later I gave up talking to her again. I guess their specialty now is not customer service but money laundering! :(
Honestly the worst bank
Honestly the worst bank. Expensive, Unnecessary fees and wouldn’t help me dispute unknown charges. Closed my account as a result, never looked back
Transfer of my investing accounts
I decided to transfer my self directed investment account to Wealth Simple from TD. It would only transfer over as cash as it was in a TFSA so I chose that, the only option I could. Well when the transfer was done I noticed they charged me $43 dollars per trade for a total of over $1000. Usually it is $9.99 a trade. When I called for support they were no help. When I asked where these fees could be found they told me to google it. Well I googled it and all I could find was “simple straight forward pricing of $9.99 per trade”. Obviously that is a lie and I will be doing so business with TD in the future.
TD Canada Mis Trust
TD Canada Trust, Is the ONLY BANK in North America that CANNOT Process a Bank to Bank transfer from their OWN BANK in a timely manner! Every other bank in the world can process a wire transaction in an hour or less! and TD Canada Trust, Cross Border banking can't! It is shocking in 2025 how they just don't possess the technology to complete a wire transfer from bank to bank, like everyone else can!
TD Canada Trust has the Most DISRESPECTFUL, and Incompetent Cross Border Banking customer service I have EVER Dealt with! They seem to think that your money belongs to them and they can just keep it and hold it anytime they want and LIE about where it is! (They are out right NASTY to TD Bank Employees on the other side of the border often hanging up on them!)

Precious metal order delayed 20+ business days, useless branch visit, and $20 “sorry"
I’ve been a TD customer for over 20 years. Never complained, never caused trouble, never even asked for “special treatment.” I stayed loyal, used their services, and genuinely believed long-term customers mattered. Clearly, they don’t.
I’ve accepted that TD won’t invest in people who don’t call and complain, fine. But what I can’t accept is being humiliated and treated with zero respect inside their own branch. The service quality has fallen off a cliff in the last year — staff are rude, unhelpful, uninterested, and seem more focused on getting customers out the door than actually resolving anything. No urgency, no ownership, no effort to help.

The actual issue:
I ordered precious metals from TD online for my son’s birthday. I’ve done this in the past — fast delivery, smooth experience. This time, delivery was supposed to be 5–15 business days, so I planned perfectly.
Well, 20 business days passed.
No update.
No delay notice.
Not even a courtesy email.
So I went to the branch for help — honestly the worst part of the story.
The teller:
• couldn’t answer basic questions
• kept repeating “delivery is 15 business days” even though I repeatedly explained it was already past 15 days
• said “I don’t know” to almost everything
• seemed annoyed that I was still asking for clarification
• only after insisting did she check my account, and still had no timeline and no information
Imagine spending $500+, money already withdrawn from my account, and the bank literally has no clue where the order is or when it will ship. If a customer pays late, interest applies. If they fail to deliver — nothing. No apology. No accountability.

A week later…
I finally get an email saying the order is delayed, with a $20 credit for a future purchase.
A joke, honestly. Why would I order again when they can’t commit to delivery in the first place?
The email didn’t even include an order number. I placed four separate orders around the same time, so how am I supposed to know which one it refers to? They blamed Canada Post for delays — but tracking shows the package was never even shipped from TD’s warehouse. Another joke.
They also said the branch will contact me once it’s ready. Another joke as they never contact me to confirm that product arrived.

I’ve never posted here or any other site before, but this experience felt worth sharing everywhere. It’s disappointing that such a large bank doesn’t invest in improving customer experience. Being loyal means nothing. Being polite means nothing. And being a long-term customer apparently earns you frustration instead of service.
At this point, I’m seriously rethinking staying with TD.
