Windscrean chip repair done a month ago and in less than a month a huge crack. Their T&Cs mitigate them from any responsibility so their chip repair service is a complete con and not worth using. Use a more reputable firm!!

Repairs were done fine but it’s next to impossible to actually call the Guildford branch- it’s automated and they don’t answer when you get put through- after numerous attempts to get through the one time I did actually get through someone picked up, was very quiet and unfriendly. I asked to be put through to bike repairs as I had missed there call, he says hold on then hung the phone up! Then when I picked my bike up there was 2 scratches on the forks and frame, the one on the frame being quite deep- I didn’t notice this until I was halfway home and had stopped off- not overly happy about it
Warning - don’t use the Halfords cowboys
I went to a National Tyres/Halfords Skelmersdale to get 2 new rear tyres, circa £280 each. They said they will align my wheels. They gave me a long story and then said we won’t charge you for the alignment. On the way home all the automatic breaking systems lit up with alerts and stopped working. Rather than go back to the cowboys, I’ve gone to an independent who has aligned the wheels and steering so everything is back to normal. Word of warning, don’t use Halfords/ National Tyres! I stupidly bought the Halfords motoring club for discount, how much of a complete tool was I.

Purchased a bike for my son for Christmas and the pedal has broke despite my son using the bike 4 times. I paid Halfords £35 to build the bike Had an appointment at their Bishopbriggs store with the bike which I can now say absolutely disgusting trying to blame us for damaging the bike. The bike does not have a scratch on it and when the lady who we where told was a manager which turns out she’s not well her attitude was disgusting her answer was if we weren’t happy to take the bike away with us which I done. I’ve contacted customer services which I can say the lady was as helpful as she could be and escalated the matter further but overall I would never recommend Halfords to anyone again and I will be taking matters further.

A Lack of Information wasting Time and Money
I bought online, having supplied my car registration, a windscreen wiper for collection and duly supplied a favourable review.
Attempting to fit it in their carpark I discovered it was for the nearside (shorter) whereas I required an offside. Fortunately I had opted to change it in the carpark so no problem - a bit more cash and back out with the new one. I should mention that there is no choice offered on Halfords website of near or offside.
Now my problems started. I had not anticipated a problem having changed wiper blades in the past. There were 2 items in the box and no instructions. Attempting to fit the new blade a plastic piece flew off. After wasting 10 minutes trying to fit this complicated piece of plastic back on the blade I sheepishly returned a 3rd time to the shop and made a further payment to have it fitted. The obliging young lady who completed the job in a matter of minutes explained that the piece I assumed had detached in error was not in fact required. It was for use on a different make of car! Not something generally known, I imagine. Very annoying - and expensive.
Halford Haddington this morning
Halford Haddington this morning with a flat tyre.Fantastic service from Conway & Stephanie!
Terrible customer service
Placed an online order and noticed it had the wrong address. No idea how they got that address as I've lived here for decades. I can only assume that staff at the halfords store input it incorrectly when they logged my halfords club details I phoned customer service and was told they had now notified the warehouse had of the correct address. The next day DHL notified me saying they were delivering to the wrong address!! Despite rearranging delivery with DHL to the correct address and for another day I got an email saying it had been delivered even though I had not received it.
The email did not show which address they'd delivered to but it did say it had been handed to me!!!. I eventually found my parcel sat outside an empty house down the road in the pouring rain.So I had to lug a heavy parcel of liquids several hundred yards in the pouring rain with a heart condition.
I tried to lodge a complaint but its nigh on impossible as they no longer accept complaints Terrible customer service
Halfords Tilehurst Reading
Halfords Tilehurst Reading. I have break pads for life with this company. Everytime I try to use this deal they always try to tell you something else needs doing. They refuse to change my pads if i dont change my discs which dont need doing as i have just had my car serviced at the dealers and they have aready advised me of any issues. Such a scam
I had an absolutely outstanding…
I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Halfords on Market Street in Aberdeen, and I want to give a special mention to Hadi (John). He was truly amazing from start to finish, incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful.
Not only did he get my car ready faster than the promised time, but he also went above and beyond by fixing my car’s light for free, just to make sure my MOT passed successfully. That level of care and dedication is rare, and I appreciate it so much.
The whole team at this branch is fantastic, but Hadi really stood out with his exceptional service. I highly recommend this place. They are efficient, trustworthy, and absolutely top‑tier.
Thank you again, Hadi, for such a positive experience!
Pleasantly surprised
I thought I should respond after noting several negative reviews. I am not a regular Halfords customer however I happened to have called into the Wells branch twice in the past month. On the first occasion the member of staff was helpful in identifying and then finding the product I required then today I had a similar experience which included a helpful guide to the range products and then,at the till, I was offered a price matching deal. In summary , this branch at least, seems. to provide a decent retail experience.
Halfords garage on trunk road …5⭐️
Halfords garage on trunk road Middlesbrough…
So, these bunch of guys are totally the best 👍they have really really gone beyond helping me on a couple of occasions with my car free of charge. ( I think they know we are all struggling in this life) but, these guys do an amazing job fixing my car and this is definitely my go garage now. 😀 I would recommend them to anyone they are spot on and they are always willing to help. And trust me I’ve been to a lot of garages in my time but these guys are 👌🏼
£7 to fit a wiper blade!
Halfords charge £7 to fit a rear or front windscreen wiper blade which only takes a minute to do. If you are not sure how to do it then look on Google there are lots of videos explaining. Have a go yourself. If an 80 yr old female can do it anyone can. I call this a rip off.

Sony Car Stereo
I ordered a car stereo on line from the Naas store. It was only available in Naas,no other store in Ireland had it. I live in Cork so booked the train for the following day. Halfway through my journey I received a call from an unknown number I declined. Had a message saying they didn't have it in stock and my order was cancelled. I rang their helpline who couldn't put me to the Naas store but would get back to me. They never did. I arrived at the store and I must say the managers Robbie and Nial were fantastic. Spent ages looking for the stereo but no joy. Got another stereo instead but not happy with it so I'll be returning it. Stereo is still shown as being in stock. Terrible service and a waste of a journey and money.
Iziz in Blanchardstown Branch is great
I have been into Halfords in Blanchardstown twice in the past week and I was looked after by Iziz. He was great. So helpful and knowledgeable. The shop has everything and free parking right outside. We'll done. One Stop Shop.
excellent service!
a couple of weeks ago, one of your staff, David, inspected my bike, saw the brake pads needed replacing. He was excellent, showing me the pads he had removed, where they were worn etc. While he was replacing them with new ones, he explained what he was doing, explained some helpful facts about cycle management, and was generally a pleasure to deal with. He certainly is a credit to your firm, and I will certainly use Halfords again, thank you.

Ashton at the Bognor Store replaced my car head light bulbs on a Passat. It was not easy, the first side came out after sometime and the bulb replaced. The other side was really difficult (guess less space to work). However he persevered and continue unrelented in the rain.
Thank you Ashton for making sure you were able change them for me. I believe he should be recognised. He is a credit to the business.
No update on delivery
Ordered a bike worth £600. Advised it would be delivered on one day. It then was delayed so waited for this to be redelivered. No update DHL keep moving it but not actually out for delivery. I can’t keep waiting in for this item I need it resolved. Customer service unable to do anything keep advising be patient, it’s been escalated they will be in touch once there is an update. Apparently have to wait 7 days before can do anything further. Even if I wanted a refund would still have to wait that time frame. I need a resolution by Friday! Don’t expect to get one! Why does a company like Halfords use a crap delivery company to send out there items.
My bike was repaired just before Christmas
My bike was repaired just before Christmas, and I left a positive review, but I don't think it really reflected how I felt at the time. I didn't have the energy or inclination to write a more detailed review. And I don't really wish to be unkind or unreasonable.
Initially I went in to buy a rear wheel because it felt like the axle snapped. I thought I might spend about £50. Instead of buying a wheel on ebay I thought it would be quicker to buy one at Halfords and fit it there and then. Also I would be supporting the bike shop.
But when I got to Halfords I was persuaded to leave the bike and let them have a look. So I left it and was told I would get a call back the following morning (Tuesday). Then I didn't a call back the next day. I could not get through to Halfords until Saturday morning. I was told I needed to come in and pay before any work could be done.
When I got there it was going to cost me £150. I was a bit surprised but I could see they had found some other things wrong with it including change of bottom bracket. So I just paid up and hoped I would soon have the bike back (because meanwhile I was having to walk to and from work every night).
Then a day or so later I got a call saying that the rear axle was snapped and I needed a new wheel. That was going to cost an additional £50!!! Also the front chainset needed replacing. That would be another £50. I was a bit confused and unhappy because I thought the whole point of the repair was to replace the broken axle. And felt that they were just trying to milk me for money.
So then nothing happened for several days. In the end I had to go in to see them. I just agreed to pay the additional £100 and hope I would soon have a running bike.
So eventually, at the end of that week, I go and pick up my bike. I managed to ride home on it but, surprise surprise, the chain would not budge from the middle cog on the front chain set (which has 3 cogs). When I took the bike in 2 weeks earlier, I did not have a problem shifting the chain between the 3 cogs. But now it no longer worked. What I fail to understand is why this was not tested before returning it to me?!? They seemed to have checked everything else, including brake pads and gear cables, and bottom bracket, telling me I need this and that. But then when they fit the chainset, they don't check that it works!?!
In fact, 18 months earlier, I had a very similar experience at the same shop. I took the bike back after some repairs which including new rear derailleur and front chainset, and the gears were not shifting properly and I had to fiddle around to fix it. So my guess, they fit the parts but don't bother testing whether it works.
So, on this occasion, I have not yet had the time nor energy to fiddle around with the front cogs, and nor have I been inclined to take it back to Halfords, because it is often such a long-winded process and means I have to do a lot of walking.
This week, the new chain that they fitted (and that I didn't ask for) snapped while cycling to work. I have barely done any cycling since getting the bike back, and the chain has snapped!!! Normally my chains have lasted for years. So I have had to fit a new chain. Also, I have tried to fix the shifting of the chain on the front cogs, but have had no success so far.
They also fitted new brakes on the rear tyre and a new brake cable. I didn't ask for these things, but they said it needed doing. The brakes are now too loose and need tightening. So I have gone to tighten them today, and sadly, I cannot loosen the screw/bolt which holds the cable. I have been adjusting this bolt for years with an Allen Key, and I never tighten too much for fear of stripping the thread. But now I cannot turn the bolt because the thread is stripped. Thanks. I had to pay something like £15 labour for the cable to be installed and whoever did it helped to strip the thread on the bolt by securing it much too tightly.
Thanks Halfords. I am sorry, but if I had simply bought a wheel on ebay I think I may have been better off.
For those of you who intend to use Halfords for repairs, I would be very specific about what you want them to do, and don't expect it to be perfect when you get i back.
