UPDATE from my first review 5 days ago.
After receiving the lower offer for my mint condition phone and rejecting it, absolutely no contact from this cowboy outfit confirming that they will return my phone, despite me clicking the button on the form to return it twice!
I have just logged an enquiry through their online contact form and got an auto-reply email stating they will get back to me within 5, yes FIVE, days. What sort of clowns are running this operation?
This is completely unacceptable customer service and I have no idea where my phone is or whether I will be getting it back.
Avoid this company at all costs. Whatever you do, read all of the 1 star reviews to understand how this company really works. I wish I had before I just blindly clicked the button on the Honor website. I intend to write to Honor as well and tell them how terrible the company they have partnered with behave. It's tarnishing their reputation as well.

Tried to use the Recommerce trade-in programme when buying a new Microsoft Surface computer. The expeirence has been a complete disaster. Mistakes, long delays or no responses at all from Recommerce customer service, ultimately depriving me of the opportunity to trade in my old device and benefit from Microsofts £250 cashback bonus. Microsoft refused to intervene saying it was Recommerce's responsibility, and as the consumer I am stuck in the middle. The only upside for me is that at least I did not actually send my old device in and then get scammed on the value - as many other reviewers have reported here. I would strongly advise to avoid Recommerce trade-in programme at all costs - it just is not worth the trouble. But, I'm equally disappointed that a company like Microsoft is willing to endorse such a company.

Recommerce received my laptop on the 12th January 2026 and after what is nearly 2 weeks and no response to my email chasing for an update i have still yet to receive a confirmation of the value of the laptop or any actually funds. I will be avoiding this company in the future and will not be recommending their services either.
Update 30/01/2026: My reference number is MSGB694EE1A4B5F3A and I have reached out to customer services receiving a response that the relevant department will investigate further..............................no further correspondence or clarification

I traded in a Dell laptop (Intel Core i7, 10th generation) as part of a Microsoft Surface Laptop purchase. The agreed trade-in value was £156.
Despite providing clear photos and proof, the trade-in partner (Re!commerce) later claimed the device was an HP laptop with an Intel i7 8th generation and reduced the value to £0. This is completely incorrect.
I have now been trying to resolve this for nearly two months. Communication is extremely poor:
No UK phone number
Only one email address
Replies take weeks (if you get one at all)
No clear resolution despite repeated contact
Microsoft refers you back to Re!commerce, and Re!commerce barely responds. You are left stuck in the middle.

Advice to others:
Before sending anything, take detailed photos and proof of exactly what you are sending. Even then, be prepared for long delays and poor support.
Very disappointing experience and not something I would trust again

They paid what was quoted without argument. They have an online tracking tool, great news, but there are few updates and no way to contact them. The process was much slower than anticipated.

Sent my s24 mint condition phone. As a trade in for new honor phone. I was offered alot less what estimate was given. I have rejected the offer but they are not sending back my phone. More than 7 days unable to contact them as there is no customer service.

I sent my laptop to Recommerce under the Microsoft trade in scheme at the end of November, and have today received payment into my bank account of the agreed price plus the Microsoft £250 bonus.
It was a straightfoward process, very easy, clear instructions, with each stage of the process completed logged on their web portal, a pretty basic interface but functional, and it was always followed by an update email. Given Christmas and New Year bank holidays in between, the time between sending my laptop, them checking it, and me receiving payment seemed reasonable. Good experience and I'm happy the laptop is being recycled. No qualms about using this company again.
