What is a “Secret Santa”?

• A Secret Santa is a holiday gift exchange where participants create something for another person based on that person’s desires and interests. The “secret” half means that, once you find out who you are making a gift for, you keep their identity a secret until you present it to them!

How do I participate?

• Simple! Just fill out this form before Sunday, January 11th, 7PM EST, with what you would like to receive and give as well as some basic information about yourself. Once everyone is signed up, you will receive your assignment at the email address you give in the form and have until the reveal dates to create something!

How will I give/receive my gift?

• There are two ways to give. If you wish for the blog to post it, you may respond to your assignment email with your creation attached, which will be posted directly to this tumblr during the reveal days. If you wish to post it yourself, please do so between Sunday, February 15th and Sunday, February 22nd with the hashtag #oofurixmas2026 so I can find it and reblog it!
• To receive, you will be @’ed in the post (if you post your own gift, make sure to @ your recipient!) If you do not have a tumblr but would like it posted on the secret santa blog, I will email you a link to your submission when it is posted.

When/where will I get my assignment?

•  We will send out assignments on Sunday, January 18th, with an email tagged with [Oofurixmas 2026] from oofurixmas @ gmail (dot) com. If you don’t get an assignment by Tuesday January 20th (in American time), please send an ask/email so I can get on it!

What is the schedule for this Secret Santa?

•  Applications are due Sunday, January 11.
• Assignments will be distributed Sunday, January 18.
• Reveals will begin on Sunday, February 15, but submissions may be posted until Sunday, February 22. Any submissions emailed to me will be queued through those days.
• All deadlines are at 7PM EST (Midnight UTC!).

What if I sign up, but find out I can’t participate?

• That’s fine, life happens! Just tell me as soon as possible so I can get a pinch hitter to take your recipient’s request, and have a great holiday season!

What is a ‘pinch hitter’?

• In the event someone backs out – school, work, life, or are generally unable to finish their assignment – we need a few people to turn to who can churn out a quick replacement so that their recipient isn’t left with nothing in their stocking. It’s an important task, so make sure you will be available at the crunch time in case of last minute dropouts.

Oh no! I found out about this after the application due date, but I want to participate! :C

• Don’t panic – we will always accept pinch hitters! We will also keep a list of people who just missed the cutoff, so if someone drops out, we can trade their spot for yours so everyone can get a thing! If you wish to sign up as a late pinch hitter, send the tumblr an ask or an email to oofurixmas @ gmail (dot) com.
