BeamNG.drive is a singleplayer and multiplayer sandbox simulation racing game developed and published by BeamNG.

Initially released as a tech demo on August 3, 2013 along with paid access to an alpha build, it was made available as early access on Steam on May 29, 2015. Over time, more contents and features were added to the game, including missions, mode, and experimental VR support.[2] On September 27th, 2024 it was announced the game had been released on the Epic Games Store.[3]. An experimental native Linux version was added on June 15, 2022 with the 0.25 update[4]

Issues unresolved

"Failed to find suitable Vulkan device" when launching native Linux port

The native Linux version requires multiple device extensions beyond what regular Vulkan 1.3 offers. AMD GCN 1 to 3 GPUs are usual suspects and do not launch on the native Linux version[16]. GPUs that provide incomplete Vulkan support (pre 1.3) may not launch either.
Workaround: Run the Windows version with Proton

Launch the game via Steam instead of the Linux binary to launch the Windows version.
