Nintendo Co., Ltd is a Japanese multinational video game company.
Nintendo was founded as Nintendo Karuta on September 23, 1889, and had been renamed to Yamauchi Nintendo (1889–1933), Yamauchi Nintendo & Co. (1933–1947), Marufuku Co., Ltd. (1947–1951) and Nintendo Playing Card Co. Ltd. (1951–1963) before being renamed to the current corporate name. Nintendo enters the video game market in 1980 with the Game & Watch handheld and the Nintendo Entertainment System console.
Unlike other console manufacturers Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo doesn't publish their games on PC. Products based on their IPs available on PC (as listed on this page) are unofficial ports, never-officially-released ports or were licensed and/or published by others companies.
