So st Piran is the patron saint of cornwall and he’s taken VERY seriously there, his flag (a white cross on a black background, symbolising white tin on black granite) can often be seen flying in people’s gardens, on buildings and especially on people’s cars - my dad and sister both have a sticker of his flag on their car to show cornish pride: 〓〓 (< this doesn’t work on darkmode)

St piran is said to have brought christianity from Ireland - according to some he was a priest in ireland and performed multiple miracles until the king got angry and threw him off a cliff tied to a rock, but because he was god’s specialist boy god made the rock float him all the way down to cornwall, where he rediscovered tin smelting (a practice lost since roman times) and brought prosperity to the area. at the time cornwall was still worshipping their celtic gods, and he apparently built the oldest christian church in britain down in perrenporth.

He’s also the patron saint of lots of things to do with cornwall - tin miners, cream clotters and pasty crimpers (lol). His feast day is on the 5th of march, and lots of employers and schools across cornwall give their employees/pupils the day as a holiday to celebrate.

oh ABSOLUTELY playable zelda!!!!!!! i’ll be so upset if we don’t get that!! i’m REALLY excited about it, although trying not to hype it up too much because it’s unlikely it’ll be as good as botw purely because the level of exploration and free open-world adventure was unlike anything else. looking at the new trailer and the first announcement trailer i’m really excited that it looks like lots of it will take place above and underground hyrule, so that’s two additional dimensions on top of the hyrule we already know (although part of me is hoping for some sailing as well because wind waker was one of my most-played games as a kid). but anyway i’m EXTREMELY hyped about it and the fact we finally have a release date, and i’ve been replaying botw a little the last few months and remembering what a joy it is.

I have!! (Although actually true colours is the only one i haven’t played) i love indie walking-simulator-style games though i know they’re not fun for everyone (there’s little to no action, most of the gameplay is walking around talking to people), but the storytelling is great and the time-rewind element is something that can only be done through a videogame and it’s done really well, imo. if you can, play without reading up about the plot beforehand; i don’t usually care about spoilers, but i had no idea what was coming in each chapter of my lis2 playthrough and it made everything more intense/emotional.

i DON’T EVEN KNOW i just scrolled through the tumblr tag & subreddit and read fan theories/rb’d pictures of mrs cobel saying insane things/lost my mind at how GREAT a character helly is 🙃🙃🙃
