Droids did not have brothers.

That was what made them different from clones, when it comes down to it.  Yes, you could argue that it was a million other different things.  Clones were biological, droids were made of metal.  Clones chose names for themselves, droids stuck to their serial numbers.  But none of that really mattered in the end.

What mattered was that sometimes a pair of droids would be having a conversation and when one of them got its head blown off the other would laugh.  Sometimes, almost every engagement, droids would try to put each other into the most dangerous positions, to save their own metal hides.  The clones usually picked them all off while they were bickering.

Droids weren’t malicious, it never occurred to them that they could care for each other, value anything besides their own immediate needs or wants.  They were created without that intrinsic ability to love.

And that’s what made them different from clones.

Clones were made to be loyal to the Republic, of course.  You could call it brainwashing, you could call it programming, and the clones would be insulted, but they would have no real evidence to counter it.

But more than anything clones were loyal to their brothers, and that was on them.  That love, that sacrifice, that commitment to each other was the one thing that was their own.  More so than the armor that was given to them, more so than the names they chose, their brothers, who shared their dna, and more importantly, shared their cause and shared their lives and shared their love.

Brothers did not betray brothers.  If they did, well, in the eyes of many clones they lost their very humanity.

There were billions of droids throughout the galaxy.  And yet droids did not have brothers.

It earned them the clones’ pity, and their hatred.

How do I get people to understand that when Paul said, "our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms," he meant "You have to fight your battles on the spiritual plane because that's where meaningful change happens" not "everyone who does evil is secretly possessed by a demon and you have to kill or do physical battle with them to get rid of the demons"

in my bed since 9 pm on a saturday night, reading the tbb novel, a cup of chamomile tea and a couple of pieces of dark chocolate. I’m exactly where I want to be, leave me here.

Ok so this is mor eof a fic idea than a thought, so here we go:

So the bad batch is on a mission with the 501st, they get into a tight spot in a battle or something. Rex turns to echo and says 'go crazy' and echo responds with a shit eating grin and reverts to the batshit crazy tactic he used with fives as an arc. The bad batch are just standing there slack jawed vause like echo was always the level headed one and like the mom. All the while rex is next to them watch the chaos unfold after he releases echo on whoever their fighting.

Idk man i just want echo reverting to his carzy self in front of TBB.
