From postgraduate dance choreographer Henry McAlpine it is based on his relationship with his grandfather. His grandfather was in the military and a strict and precise man. Henrys grandfather is now battling with dementia. The film observes the subjects deterioration, and Henrys wish to support him. The film recently won the 2014 Fringe Festival WA Campus Competition competing against 40 other student films submitted from University of Western Australia, WA Screen Academy, Notre Dame, Murdoch, Curtin Universities and other high education institutions. Vessel was thus voted by Film and Television Institute as the best WA graduate film from 2013. It was the only submission from the ECU course. Written by Anonymous See less
