They are all connected by the same passion - the passion for traditional Khmer dharma chanting/Smot chanting. Our main character Srey Oun is a 35-year-old woman who has stayed single and given up on her dream of studying traditional music in Phnom Penh to stay with her elderly parents and help them with backbreaking household works. 25 years old Srey Pov, on the other hand, has it all - she is a famous Smot chanter and owns a business that enables her to support her whole family.
