When Donald and Mickey talk outside about Pete wanting to kidnap the Princess, Donald admits he was hiding and runs off into the night. (Video above)

the AU takes place right after this, after Mickey was kidnapped by Pete.

let me explain how this works, Donald runs off but instead of trying to flee the country (like the movie suggests) He instead joins Pete in order to save his own skin from his biggest fears, agreeing to help him ONLY if he’ll keep Mickey and Goofy out of the picture.. Unaware of Mickey chained in the cellar.

Pete makes Donald leader of the Beagle boy gang and ultimately his second in command at how well he can get a job done.

But of course when he finds out Mickey has been held in the cellar this whole time, he becomes conflicted.

He helps Pete out until the end, When his friends’ lives are in danger. Then he mans up and blocks Pete’s blade from reaching Mickey and joins the Musketeers to save the Princesses.

However he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be apart of the Three Musketeers after, seeing as what he did was wrong.. But he is forgiven?
