Hello QSMP Miraheze Enjoyers

The wiki! It’s up and running!!! Incredible!!!!!

The QSMP Miraheze Wiki is a QSMP information resource hosted on Miraheze. The goal was to make a wiki with an emphasis on accuracy and citing as many sources as possible.

This account is meant to keep Tumblr updated on how the wiki is doing! If you have questions about the wiki or want to reach out with requests/resources, our askbox is open.

If you want to come help out, join our discord: https://discord.gg/ewSFrDuRzu

Or go straight to the wiki and poke around: There are a lot of gaps that YOU can help fill! We have a how-to page here.

Thank you so much to everyone who has participated or just offered encouragement! We are so excited about this project and I can’t wait to see how this thing grows

WIKI EDITOR WEDNESDAY

This week is a huge shout out to 2 editors: Silverware Drawer ( @silverware-drawer ), and PuppyLove24680 for being essential contributors to our gigantic QSMP Timeline page!

I don’t know who said we should have a catalogue of the notable events of EVERY day of the QSMP but somehow these two along with other editors managed to fill in hundreds of days worth of events. We were also able to build our “On This Day” module for the main page using the QSMP Timeline page.

Although there are still days that need to be filled in, the amount of work we’ve already been able to accomplish is incredible. Definitely check out this page, and add some events you don’t see if you have the time! :D

WIKI EDITOR WEDNESDAY

This week’s appreciation post goes out to User:Atthebell ( @atthebell ) , who singlehandedly carried the QSMP Global ARG page to greatness!!

This page recaps the global ARG in stunning detail, with transcribed text of the puzzles supplemented by images from the ARG and Cellbit’s annotated screenshots.

I love this page, especially as someone who wasn’t following along in real time when it was first being solved. Whether you also missed it and are curious about the puzzles or you were there and want to relive the glory, this page is definitely worth checking out!

lets have a moment of appreciation for non-fandom independent wikis

@zelda-wiki thanks for not being part of that mess

Nobody hates Fandom more than communities that have left it. Especially now that Fandom has announced their plans to use generative AI to "translate" articles into other languages rather than using human contributors, and sent out a "we hear you, but we don't care" update when this was understandably met with backlash. It's a terrible idea that's probably going to poison the internet landscape as a whole with inaccurate information.

There's never been a better time to leave Fandom if you're a contributor to one of their wikis. Strike up a conversation with your team/community, but try to do it in private until it's ready because Fandom tends to take notice and punishes members who leave.

The Indie Wiki Buddy extension is a great resource for people who want to use existing alternatives to Fandom, and can bring you to mirrors of Fandom sites so you don't have to give them any ad revenue. Realistically the best thing you can do about their behavior is to stop using them altogether and support independent alternatives.

I use this extension and it's a godsend. Fandom is always at the top of the search results so if there's ever an alternative you'll want this to help you find it.
