also yesss i love diakane ^_^ i dont talk abt it as much as mirakane but its always in my heart :333 whats their dynamic like beyond their similarities between sigma + akanes in canon? cause i feel in fanon, it varies drastically fhsdkgfhj (some ppl say sigma and akane work closely together, i personally see it as sigma on the moon while akanes primarily on earth and sometimes checks in on him), so im curious on how thatd translate to a potential diakane interaction. and considering sigmas role has shifted, what would his perception be of akane and vice versa? sorry if this makes no sense and if u havent planned it all out ghdkjf ik ur playing w toys but i get so intrigued i love ze aus okay anyw

so its not entirely a role reversal? The idea came about because I misunderstood the bootstrap paradox 😭 and I was like, who was the first sigma? The first diana? so essentially, diana becomes a drifter after leaving her ex, and sleeps with akane the day of the explosions. Akane is basically like wow diana you and this soggy cat i found could save the world. and shes like fuck it we ball??? So in this case, there is also no ztd because sigmas consciousness never swapped.

Also, diana DOES die, which really solidifies sigmas undying work ethic on her behalf to save the world, for her. This is why luna has to take on the role of zero because sigma does not do very well unsupervised.

Diakane was not a huge focus of the AU because sigdi touys are best touys, but akane is imagined as more of an occasional moon visitor rather than a permanent resident. She knows that Diana’s bonding with sigma is incredibly crucial to the plan, so she has to step aside even if she does have feelings for her.

Finally, sigma doesn’t really perceive akane much? He is OBSESSED with diana its not healthy I mean why else would you go to the moon with a random girl… so akane is just a blur in the corner of his eye. post Diana’s death, she is just like really mean to pathetic ol sigma. post diana sigma is such a mess though so she is fair to be mean to him. Unlike 0 luna, she doesn’t have the slightest compassion for him though. But maybe thats just the role she has to play?
