TLDR; if a clergyman is tricked by a dinner invitation into entering a home where adults are playing cards, he should be a gentleman and leave immediately. Then - still being a gentleman - he should tell all the host’s friends and neighbors how she tricked him before finally telling her to her face that she is not a lady and he will forever more hold her in contempt.
